Dear Fred, Thank you for your feedback. Well, you may be correct. But why don't we let the facts guide us? It is a fact that Lagos State has an internal GDP of roughly $100 billion. It is a fact that of that amount, the Dangote Refinery accounts for $19 billion. Other Dangote Group assets account for another $3 billion. It is also a fact that Abdulsamad Rabiu's group of companies accounts for another $2.5-3 billion. Dr. Mike Adenuga's investments in Lagos total $1.5 billion. Then you have private sector investment totalling $4 billion at the Lekki Free Trade Zone and Lekki Port under Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited, of which the owners are from the Southwest, Northwest and foreign expatriates. Then there are Flutterwave, with a $3 billion market capitalisation, and Angela, with a market cap of $1.5 billion. Then you have Nestlé, Nigerian Breweries, Nigerian Bottling Company, Guinness Nigeria, now owned by Tolaram of Singapore, Lafarge Africa Plc (owners of West African Portland Cement company), the Elizade Group, Honeywell Flour Mills, AICCO, Leadway Insurance, the Yinka Folawiyo Group, Nestoil, Forte Oil, and Oando, which have a combined worth of $15 billion. Now, Fred, I just listed more than 50% of Lagos's GDP, and as much as we love and appreciate you, our brothers and sisters from the Southeast, not one person from that geopolitical zone is included. As such, do you still stand by your assertion that "most investments in Lagos are owned by Igbos"? It may be that I have the wrong data set, and you have more accurate data. CLEAN-Air(Africa) is excited to witness a significant step towards promoting #cleancooking in Tanzania. Last week, the President of #Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu, demonstrated #cleancooking practices using #LPG, to replace traditional use of polluting #wood and #charcoal, fuels that are predominantly used in the country. This live cooking demonstration was part of the "Declaration of Kizimkazi," which is not only showcasing the benefits of clean cooking but also sparking a national debate on the importance of adopting cleaner energy solutions for #health, #genderequality, the environment and climate. By highlighting the advantages of using LPG for cooking, the President is setting a powerful example to help promote population scale of adoption of truly clean cooking in Tanzania aligned with the #SDG7 goal of Universal Access to Clean Modern Energy by 2030. With colleagues from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), we are pleased to be contributing to clean cooking policy in Tanzania with important research on how to encourage communities to fully transition from polluting solid fuels to clean cooking with LPG.
