Did you know the first U.S. application of the water treatment technology, Flow Reversal Reverse Osmosis (FRRO), was at the City of Santa Monica’s Arcadia Water Treatment Plant? Adam Zacheis conceptualized the FRRO process in the early stages of his career and applied similar RO technology on Arcadia WTP decades later. Learn why FRRO was the right solution for #SantaMonica in our new interactive web series, “From Proof to Proven: Journeys to Water Independence”: https://ow.ly/N4Qy50St6bS Inspired to help utilities and communities achieve water independence? Insights - Navigating in waters of low CATZOC Some waters are well known for poor hydrographic data. In places, the accuracy and information on the charts is completely unassessed. As such, complete reliance on the official electronic charts (ENCs) is a risk that has led to serious navigational incidents. The information contained in ENCs is the same as the information in traditional paper charts, the data was simply digitalised. Therefore, if the hydrographic data was poor on paper charts it is on ENCs as well in many cases. Follow the link to follow, to read more on: - Confidence in the data - Use other sources - Archipelagic Sea Lanes - Practical use of CATZOC - How can I evidence the passage I choose is the best, even if it is longer? - Charterparty considerations Read the insights here 📑https://lnkd.in/eQc9-8W8 With thanks to NorthStandard authors John Southam and Ben Roberts #navigation #CATZOC

The City of Gastonia's hydraulic model is ready for an update, which means marking up lots of maps. 🗺️ Our Utilities team held a workshop with their staff to figure out which areas will be part of future water service. The City's plans will become part of models for 10-year, 20-year, and build-out conditions. The updated models will then be a springboard toward creating a regional tool for scenario planning, alternative analysis, and CIP development. #wrprojects #utilities #water #watermodeling #hydraulicmodeling #modeling #assetmanagement

🚨New Article Alert 🚨 The confluence of rivers is a critical area in the natural water transport network. Examining and understanding the flow characteristics at the confluence of channels and rivers can enable us to predict changes in bed morphology and flow obstruction. In this regard, I am pleased to inform you that our new article titled "Numerical Investigation of Confluence Flow in a Degraded Bed under Different Hydraulic Parameters, Using SSIIM 2.0" has been accepted and published in the Water Resources Management journal (https://lnkd.in/dfnuCkrM). Additionally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my esteemed colleagues, Dr Seyed-Farhad Mousavi, Dr Khosrow Hosseini, and Mr Kiarash Geranmayeh, whose experiences and perspectives I have utilized in writing this article.
