As in many other states and many other countries, Texas has a skills gap, with 54% of jobs requiring skills training beyond high school but not a four-year degree, and with only 45% of workers having access to the training needed for these jobs.
Amazon Web Services (AWS), in collaboration with Houston Community College, Texas State University, Dallas College, and Kilgore College, and employers including JPMorganChase, Brooksource, CoreStack, DLZP Group, TanChes Global Management, Inc., and TEKsystems, are helping Texas tackle this challenge with the launch of our newest Tech Alliance in the Lone Star State.
The AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance brings together a coalition of employers, government agencies, workforce development organizations, and education leaders to address the skills gap in community college and university curricula, to provide employers with the pipeline of early career talent they need to continue to innovate.
