I had the opportunity to try one out at the Peoria Riverfront Museum and was so impressed! As a UIX designer in the e-learning space, I can already imagine so many use cases here. The 3D experience looks even better in person than the demo videos (which is pretty rare!), the glasses are lightweight and the connected stylus is very intuitive and fun to use.
The first app I tried allowed you to explore our solar system, where you could essentially pull a planet from the screen and explore it from every angle in 3D space. Then there was my personal favorite app, Tilt Brush! I've used this creative app on my Quest before, but being able to draw and sculpt on a 3D canvas at a desk with the stylus was a unique experience compared to wearing a larger VR headset and using controllers. (Don't worry, I'm still in love with the creative apps on my Quest too 😉)
I really hope to see more of these in museum labs, schools and even libraries one day! 😊 🙌🏽
