If you were in a room of 10,000 people...would you be able to sell them all? Eh...doubtful. I'm sure you're good, but you're not THAT good. What about in a room of 100 people? Hmmm...probably still no... What about this...what if you were in a room with 10 people, all of whom were your IDEAL clients and you were the only one in the world that could fix their problem? Could you sell them all? Umm, HECK yes you could! The importance of ✨niching down✨ I just got off a 10k Pitch Strategy Call (since yes, I'm offering those up for any of our Supered partners that want to bounce ideas off me 😉) and at the very start of the call, he said, "I don't have anything vertical or function specific that could help me win this pitch." Hold up 🖐🏻 rewind ⏮️ Me: "Umm, didn't you launch a Hubspot build for *very specific micro-industry* store and because you did that, you were able to sign and launch their sister store in the same *very specific micro-industry*?" Them: "Oh well, yeah..." Me: "And in this *very specific micro-industry* aren't there are a lot of challenges with integrating banking, e-commerce, and customer service?" Them: "OHH yeah." Me: "...which you are now a master of. And aren't there a lot of *very specific micro-industry* companies popping up that are going to need help with their Hubspots?" Them: "Yup, yup. You're right." Too often when starting a new business, we try to cast a wide net to pull in as much business as possible and really...it should be the other way around. Start by defining who your ultimate IDEAL CLIENT is and work backwards. And you'll be much happier you did! (I have a worksheet on how to identify your Ideal Client Persona from an old life. This led to a life lesson from my grade 13 math teacher: it's obvious that having at least one lottery ticket significantly increases your chances of winning compared to having none. Implementing even basic strategies is much better than having none, as it's crucial for maximizing client retention.
