To mark Native American Heritage Day, here’s one to add to the reading list. Path Lit By Lightening by David Maraniss tells the story of Jim Thorpe, Olympic champion, football and baseball star, and member of the Sac and Fox Nation. If you’re interested in the history of how Native Americans have been treated in the US, the early days of Olympic and professional team sports, and the troubled life of the original “GOAT”, this is a #mustread #nativeamericanheritagemonth

Thanks for the rec, I look forward to reading this. BTW, if you plan to visit Jim Thorpe, PA and go to the Jim Thorpe Museum, keep in mind that Jim Thorpe never lived or even went there. The town acquired his body to bury there and it serves mainly as a tourist attraction.
