Filled with tremendous appreciation, optimism and a strong sense of urgency returning from our Breakthrough Energy Summit in London #BESummit2024. The event brought together a truly global community of industry thought leaders, corporations, governments, investors and most importantly showcased the BOLD innovators and founders of the more than 160 companies that Breakthrough Energy is supporting across the hardest to abate sectors of Agriculture, Buildings, Manufacturing, Transportation and Electricity. Together, we collaborated through meaningful discussions, deep dives and technology demonstrations on the core facts: 1. This is hard - we are basically trying to accelerate what would normally be a 50 year industry revolution into a decade. 2. We are making progress - we learned from the 160 companies across the Breakthrough Energy platform that are continuing to drive innovation forward, developing leap frogging technologies that can create a more prosperous future. I have been working in this sector nearly my entire career, it's been a marathon, with many hills and twists and turns, but I feel the pace picking up, WE can do it. I am incredibly grateful and humbled by our Breakthrough Energy team and our network for showing up and committing to keep this important work at the forefront.
