Merchandiser - Apparel, Sweater JOB SUMMARY: Reports directly to the Divisional Merchandise Manager / Senior Director, Apparel; this role is responsible for coordinating all products sourcing and production with the production team in China for all new and ongoing products. Serve as intermediary with our maker partners throughout Asia. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage all aspects of the products being developed; Insure best pricing, quality, design, and construction; Meet with maker partners prior to pricing products to insure they understand all requirements; Assist supervisor to schedule and coordinate time lines for production; Understand all components of PTC/Flex; Assist supervisor to negotiate with manufacturers and understand components that make up cost; Work well and in a professional manner with maker partners. Develop strong vendor relationships; Responsible for products development; and support the production team whenever is needed; Maintain regular communication with supervisor, makers, mills and internal associates and teams; and Execution of correct packaging to merchandise profile. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: · Insure all information input into system is timely and accurately. · Any other projects/duties as assigned by the company from time-to-time. QUALIFICATIONS: · EDUCATION: Diploma or above in merchandising or related disciplines, preferably with an apparel sourcing/buying office. · WORK EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ACCOUNTBILITIES REQUIRED: Hands on and experience in product development with general understanding of technical design, garment construction, materials, finishing, etc. of the apparel products; Ability to handle multiple tasks, analyze statistics, meet timelines and quality control oriented; Strong organizational and negotiation skills, follow-up and attention to detail; Well organized and effective communication skills; Business standard of written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese; ability to read and write Chinese; Computer literacy in PLM and Microsoft office programs, especially Excel; and occasional overseas travel is required.
