I just love what I do! Growing thought leadership is a key component of not only building your own personal brand, but that of your company brand as well. Your mindset when you work for any brand as a leader should be: When I Win, We all Win, Together. That is why I love working at Kulur Group. This mentality is infused into our core company values and it's the reason we soar, together! #lifteachotherup#winnersmindset#leadershiplessons
A growing number of corporate entities have adopted social justice platforms, which adds time and requires more attention to every detail of communications planning. Chief Communications and Kulture Officer Stephanie Johnson weighs in on the importance of nuance and balance amidst constant breaking news globally.

Today marks the eighth anniversary of my time serving on Secretary Hillary Clinton's Presidential Campaign. 🇺🇸 It was a transformative experience that shaped my career and outlook on public affairs and policy. Here are three invaluable lessons I learned during my time on the campaign:
1️⃣ Effective Communication: Clear and strategic communication is the cornerstone of any successful campaign. From crafting messages for the public to coordinating with team members, I learned the importance of conveying our vision and goals effectively.
2️⃣Campaign Strategy and Organization: The campaign taught me the intricacies of strategic planning and organization. From grassroots organizing to fundraising and voter outreach, I gained insights into the complexities of running a high-profile political campaign.
3️⃣ Resilience and Adaptability: Political campaigns are dynamic and unpredictable. Through my experience, I developed resilience and adaptability, learning to navigate setbacks and pivot strategies to stay focused on our mission.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such an impactful campaign and to have worked alongside passionate individuals dedicated to making a difference. Here's to the lessons learned and the growth that continues. #HillaryClinton#CampaignExperience#PublicAffairs#Policy#TransformationTuesday
This week has seen more polls narrow in Kamala Harris's favour. Her campaign is off to a strong start—not least in her public appearances 🇺🇸📢
Whether you're a presidential candidate or not, successful speeches and media interviews repeat the same elements:
- Pauses: adding emphasis and drama to key lines. They help speakers control their pace and rhythm
- Memorable soundbites: keeping audiences engaged, cutting through distractions, and giving a single appearance longevity. 'I know Donald Trump's type’ has been clipped and reused by broadcasters around the world, for days after Harris's speech
- Personalisation: successful speakers make sure they understand their audience, so they can adapt what they say to their interests and concerns
- Bridging: not just about avoiding difficult questions, but linking thoughts and helping audience follow a conversation or argument
- Rule of 3: using three statements for each point to give speeches structure and punch.

A few questions to the innovators, founders and CEOs: will your PR team give you good advice, or get you in deeper? Will they run away to MSM and betray you? Will they stay by your side during the crisis? Or are they simply gonna present you with a fat retainer invoice every month? Pick your hired gun wisely, folks -- or follow me and keep learning why you should. ;) I've spent 30 years thriving in a profession where people "die" young. Call me. :) #startups#pragency#venturecapital#pr#marketing#techpr
Years ago, I was castigated for saying "seriously?" to a reporter in a email. About 80 percent of Valley PR flacks in the Valley came at me for unprofessionalism. Today, these college presidents, the alleged "pros" working for them, the democracy-free cheerleaders who were fellating Trump in the WH for years -- have since sucked at their jobs, betrayed their country, abdicated their responsibilities, run away and been embraced by CNN, claiming shock and horror at the parties they chose to support. And guess what? Not one word -- not one -- from the storytelling geniuses and inquisitive, thinking minds that allegedly lead PR these days. This is confirmation for me that PR today, collectively, has very little moral or factual grounding -- and a whole lot of gutless turds. My "sin" came in defense of my client and because I stayed up. Yours comes in service to evil, and you run like cowards.

👆🏾 THIS is how to run a 1st class advocacy and influencing campaign:
🎯 Have a clear goal in mind.
🎯Be razor sharp focused on your desired outcome
🎯Use every platform you have.
🎯Optimize the opportunities for maximum impact
🎯Create memorable moments with shareable content
🎯Speak to hearts and minds
🎯Get the best voices to deliver a compelling message
🎯Tell a credible story
🎯Put your best foot forward - every. single. time.
🎯Deliver a rallying cry
🎯Address the undertones and overtones of the issues
🎯Be bold about who you are and what you think
🎯Sequence your message roll-out
🎯Aggressively target the undecided; strengthen allies and defend attacks from staunch antagonists
🎯End with a clear and concise call-to-action
From all indications, the Democrats are running a FANTASTIC campaign (since KH was announced). This is gold standard communications .. (even before this convention, their use of social media and community-generated content on Twitter and Tiktok in particular is unprecedented. Even ZOOM was used as a 24hr crowd funding tool).
My favourite speech thus far is Michelle Obama.
Look at her inflections. How she uses language, tone, voice pitch, facial expression, hands, head movements, eye contact etc to deliver her message . A good speech is not something you say or read.
It is something you perform...
To deliver a good speech, you need to have rehearsed it - even if using a teleprompter - to determine areas of emphasis, inflection and where you want to reel the audience in or get their participation as Michelle did half-way through with the DO SOMETHING call..
Well done to her team and everyone behind the scenes at the DNC..
Keen to see how this plays out in November
Never underestimate the impact of strategic communications..
(p.s. if you seek to build your presentation/speech delivery skills, please take your time to watch these speeches).

In a political landscape where standing out is crucial, one former leader has taken an unconventional approach that's left strategists scrambling and opponents bewildered.
Key takeaways from this unprecedented campaign event:
• Unorthodox campaign strategies can generate massive attention
• The line between politics and entertainment continues to blur
• Reaction management is crucial in high-stakes public relations
As professionals, we must ask: How do we navigate a world where shock value often trumps substance? How can we maintain credibility while still capturing public attention?
Share your thoughts: Have you ever had to manage an unconventional PR situation? What strategies worked for you?

Politics today often feels like a whirlwind of controversy and headlines, but what if some of this chaos is by design? In this insightful clip, Pete Buttigieg breaks down how former President Trump strategically uses outrageous statements to divert attention from critical issues. This is a powerful example of how communications tactics are deployed in political discourse, and a reminder of the importance of staying focused on what really matters. Worth a watch for anyone interested in the intersection of politics and strategic communications.
