Happens to me quite often, but I’d rather be kind. I’m taking advantage of them being mean I just have to learn the difference better.

I once worked at an ad agency where there was a senior creative who treated staff terribly and got away with it due to his “genius.” I found his actions repulsive. One day I was working on one of the biggest accounts in the country on a job I loved and had moved across country for, and he decided to pull his shenanigans. He grabbed papers out of my hands and threw them on the ground in front of a group of powerful clients, saying demeaning things to me in turn. I completed the task at hand politely and then I tendered my resignation at end of day, giving a very clear explanation that I was not going to stand by and watch him abuse staff, and most importantly, me. I took my things and didn’t look back. Had a new job within 24 hours. The company was forced to take a hard look at this man’s actions and they learned the price of permitting abuse. And even if they didn’t, I was not taking it standing still. Just not something I was willing to accept. No amount of money was worth the abuse to me.

While I acknowledge that being understanding and forgiving shouldn't result in ignoring disrespect, I view understanding and forgiveness as strengths rather than weaknesses. They signify the ability to look beyond someone's hurtful actions and opt not to be impacted by them. Forgiveness is a self-gift that liberates you from negativity. Keep in mind, you can't dictate how others treat you, but you can control your reactions. opt to rise above and concentrate on your personal development and joy.

Best Quotes of the Day I agree that being understanding and forgiving shouldn't lead to overlooking disrespect. However, I believe that being understanding and forgiving is a strength, not a weakness. It means you're able to see beyond someone's hurtful behaviour and choose not to let it affect you. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself, and it sets you free from negativity. Remember, you can't control how others treat you, but you can control how you respond. Choose to rise above and focus on your own growth and happiness.

People disrespecting others are disrespecting themselves first. They only reflect their own weaknesses, but totalement true here, any other tips ? ;-)

In the realms of butlering, leadership, and HR, it's important to strike a balance between being forgiving and maintaining boundaries. While it's essential to be understanding of others' mistakes and shortcomings, it's equally crucial to recognize when boundaries have been crossed and when disrespect has occurred. Ignoring or tolerating disrespectful behaviour can erode trust, undermine morale, and ultimately harm relationships within the workplace. Therefore, it's important to address instances of disrespect calmly and constructively, while also emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and professionalism in all interactions.

If you're allowing others to treat you poorly, you're only teaching them how to treat you.

Best Quotes of the Day: One who is understanding and forgiving by nature rarely bothers about facing a disrespectful situation. Instead, they choose to let go of the negativity and focus on the positive aspects of the situation. They believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt and understanding that everyone makes mistakes. By forgiving easily, they are able to maintain their peace of mind and move forward with a clear conscience.
