📌 FALL ARREST SYSTEM in Telecommunication Cell/Radio tower worker safety. 📍A safety belt and full body harness is not the same. The harness is superior to a belt because it distributes the forces throughout the body; and. suspends the worker upright after the fall. "OSHA Standard 1910.268(g)(1) A positioning system or a personal fall arrest system shall be provided and the employer shall ensure their use when work is performed at positions more than 4 feet (1.2 m) above the ground, on poles, and on towers. The employer shall ensure that all climbing equipment is inspected before each day's use to determine that it is in safe working condition." Only trained and authorized workers are allowed to participate in tower climbing work activities! Tower climbers must receive extensive, specialized training before being allowed to climb towers. Watch as this worker at" rooftop site" was saved by a full body harness from a fatal fall.👇 #towersafety #safety #bestpractices #wirelessnetwork #hsesupervisor #hse #safteyfirst #telecommunication #towerco #towerclimber #oshacompliance #osha #celltower #towerco

The attached article (linked below) from Diversified Fall Protection posted on March 15th 2014, states that communications tower employees have a risk of fatal injury that is 25-30 times higher than the risk for an average American worker. Sadly, many of the tragic deaths in this industry are avoidable. The article continues on to say OSHA officials point to a lack of fall protection systems and improper training as the primary contributors. Our mission is to assist in the inspection process to help you avoid unnecessary risk and injury to your team. Our commercial drone systems are able to perform high quality and customizable inspections from a safe distance. A routine drive between rigs became a lifesaving mission for South Texas Field Technician Camron Martin. Camron encountered a fiery crash scene and immediately pulled over to help the other passersby tending to the trapped driver. While one person attempted to control the flames with a fire extinguisher, Camron and two other Good Samaritans rescued the driver from the wreckage. Just seconds after safely crossing the highway, the fire extinguisher ran out, and the vehicle was fully engulfed. This incident highlights the importance of preparedness and staying #AlwaysAware. 🚨 Stay calm if you are involved in or see an accident. If you can safely do so, call 9-1-1 immediately. 🩹 Carry a first aid kit and know basic first aid procedures. 👨🚒 Follow the instructions of first responders. 🧯 Keep a fire extinguisher in your vehicle and ensure you are trained on PASS (Pull the pin, Aim at the base, Squeeze Trigger, Sweep). #safety #EmployeeSpotlight #drilling #AlwaysAware Nabors Industries

I live in a country where 1.3 million people live and close to a million cars exist on the road. What I realise is that there are more unsafe behaviours on the roadway than we think. Within the last 3–4 months, 3500 speeding tickets have been given. So Monday morning, I am heading to work, and a security guard from the largest security firm crosses under the walkover on their phone. Their action forced two cars to slow down on a three-lane highway. She would have to walk down an embankment and then cross another three lanes. This individual is going to enforce your policies. Why should we listen to this individual who cannot follow simple life-saving steps? How your employees act in public is a reflection of your safety culture. Safety is not just on the job but also off the job.

🚧 Elevating Workplace Safety: The Essence of Fall Arrest Systems 🛑 In the realm of workplace safety, Fall Arrest Systems stand as a paramount shield against the dangers of falls at heights. 🌐👷♂️ Key Components: 1. Harness: Distributes forces during a fall, safeguarding the worker. 2. Lanyard: Absorbs energy, reducing impact on the body. 3. Anchor Point: Secure attachment for the lanyard, ensuring stability. 4. Connectors: Durable hardware linking harness to lanyard and anchor point. In the event of a fall, this dynamic system activates, preventing ground impact and safeguarding our frontline workers. 💪✨ Compliance Insight: Adhering to industry standards is critical. According to BS 8437: Code of practice for the selection, use, and maintenance of personal fall protection equipment for use in the workplace,' the recommended minimum frequency for inspections and testing should be annually, ensuring robust safety protocols. 🛡️📆 Remember, a comprehensive fall protection program goes beyond gear—it's about training, regular inspections, and a commitment to workplace safety.
