Overwhelmed by increasing demand, rural hospitals and health systems across America struggle with patient care delays, overuse of emergency departments, staff burnout, and reimbursement issues. May is Mental Health Month, and we at CalleoHealth, Ltd. are highlighting the incredible work of improving behavioral healthcare access across rural America. Psychiatric Medical Care the nation's largest behavioral healthcare management company, led by J.R. Greene, FACHE, is at the forefront of this effort. Stephanie Weatherly, DNP, PMH RN-BC, FACHE, PMC’s chief clinical officer, recently shared innovative solutions to overcome barriers in rural communities, addressing issues like provider shortages and mental health stigma. Through four care models—inpatient behavioral health units, intensive outpatient psychiatry programs, and telepsychiatry for EDs and rural health clinics—PMC has achieved reductions in ED visits, recidivism, and polypharmacy, along with positive community and financial outcomes. Take the first step to enhance mental healthcare in your community with the right partner. #MentalHealthMonth #BehavioralHealth #RuralHealthcare #PMC #HealthcareInnovation #MentalHealthAwareness

Prof Melanie Turner on Demystifying Voluntary Assisted Dying (Free Webinar) Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) is now a pathway of health care available in all Australian States and in New Zealand. The laws are similar Australia-wide, but differ slightly in each State, applying to people who have an incurable, advanced and progressive disease, illness or medical condition, and are experiencing intolerable suffering from that. In this webinar, Prof Melanie Turner will disambiguate the facts and myths surrounding VAD, covering key aspects including a summary of each region’s legislation and key differences; how the VAD process works and how people access it; the diverse teams of health-care professionals who provide VAD; what families and clinicians say about being engaged in the VAD process; as well as areas which need further considerations. The psychiatry/psychology view of ethics, neutrality and possible values-clashes, as well as grief and loss are also covered. https://lnkd.in/gH5JtdMP

Psychologist | Educator | Passionate about delivering excellent health outcomes to vulnerable adults
10 years ago Brent King, Jennifer Rucci, and I were on the cusp of launching an organization that was designed from the ground up to deliver integrated, collaborative, whole-person care to the vulnerable residents of long-term care. We were to be one team-physicians, APP's, psychologists, and LCSW's- focused on managing the chronic problems of this special population with a unique emphasis on the power of mental health and primary care working together. A decade later, I am very proud of what Eventus WholeHealth has become. We not only have fulfilled that initial vision, but are delivering industry-leading outcomes that demonstrate the value of having a model of care. True collaboration is not achieved merely by aiming multiple clinicians at a patient. It is achieved through working as a team, in one medical record, with discipline around the special needs of a special population. As we empower staff, clinicians, and leaders to work together; as we implement leading-edge technologies, like AI-facilitated scribing to allow clinicians to focus on their patients and not a computer; as we partner with the amazing long-term care organizations who support the daily needs of their residents through robust communication systems and staff training; as we build amazing support for clinicians to do their work, with remarkable medical assistants and support staff, new analytics to identify opportunities to improve care, and ongoing education to stay current with best practices; I can't wait to see the next 10 years! #eventuswholehealth #valuebasedcare #ltc #longtermcare #future #amazing
Eventus WholeHealth is Kicking Off Our 10th Anniversary as the Leader of Primary Care and Behavioral Health Services in the Long-Term Care Industry! 🎉 🎉 🎉 Eventus WholeHealth is proud to begin celebrating our 10th anniversary as the premier provider of primary care and mental health services in the Southeast and Midwest for residents in long term care. What began in North Carolina as Onsite Care by Brent King, DO, Jennifer Rucci, MD, Geriatric Psychiatrist and Will Sampson, PhD, Psychologist, the mission was to address the behavioral health crisis taking place in long term care facilities. Dr. Rucci’s expertise in Geriatric Psychiatry combined with Dr. King’s market leadership in care model design created the clinical pathways and proprietary APP training that quickly established Onsite Care as the leader. Due to continued demand of our stellar services, Onsite Care added primary care to ensure all healthcare needs of people living in long term care were met by one team of providers, working collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes, in the places that our patients call home. This has come to be known as our Integrated Care model. Onsite Care grew very quickly and became Eventus WholeHealth in 2018 as a reflection of significant multi-state expansion. Today Eventus WholeHealth continues to be physician-led by founders Dr. King, Dr. Rucci, and Dr. Sampson and proudly serves our patients residing in more than 900 long-term care communities. Our success allows us to continue welcoming many experienced physicians, APPs, and psychotherapists to Eventus WholeHealth, who share a passion for providing complete care for people residing in long-term care communities. We have long offered around the clock care and measure our success by our ability to achieve superior health outcomes in the lives of our patients while delivering high value to our facility leader and owner partners -- because the best care is Integrated™. #10yearanniversary #geriatriccare #mentalhealth #primarycare #behavioralhealth #assistedliving #skillednursing #thebestcareisintegrated

Wow. A decade is a long time. A thankfully long time to have enjoyed this journey surrounded by the vision of Brent King and the partnership of Will Sampson. A long time that afforded the opportunity to have developed relationships with Eventus’ many other clinical and administrative leaders. And a long time to have maintained as the premier provider of integrated healthcare in the post acute and long term care populations. And yet it’s a short time. An impressively short time to have accomplished so many things in healthcare, a system that is typically filled with obstacles seemingly designed to slow change to a snail’s pace. Yet in just 10 years Eventus WholeHealth overcame any challenges it faced and has been able to change the way healthcare is delivered to frail and vulnerable patients. We’ve been innovative and creative in our methods, and developed partners externally where goals were aligned. We successfully have proven the original model laid out 10 years ago of proactive chronic care addressing both medical and psychosocial needs in a collaborative way is truly optimal. In this short time we have shown that the Eventus model produces improved individual patient and whole population outcomes at a reduced cost to the patient and system. That is the aim all health interventions are trying to prove. And we’ve already done it! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the Eventus team members past and present who helped make this happen. We could not have done it without you. Your patients and the patients of this model in the future are measurably benefiting from the work you are doing each day. #longtermcare #healthcareinnovation #valuebasedcare #physicianleadership
