😡 Cutting corners is never ok! 😡 Ever been pulled over by a police car? I was on Sunday.... To my shock, I was informed I was driving without an MOT. I don't keep the certificates in the car (I will now). But I was certain I had got one done in summer... The garage called me at 10am on 11th June saying it failed and needed some work, and by 3pm called to say it had passed. Collecting it, I thought all was sorted. Turns out, they only uploaded the fail onto the MOT database, not the pass! For three months, I unknowingly drove without a valid MOT. This got me thinking about the knock-on effects of cutting corners. Missing steps or skimping on crucial details can lead to significant problems down the line. In recruitment, making sure every aspect of our process is covered is so important. One oversight can mean the difference between placing a great candidate or damaging a client relationship. Whether you're a precision engineer or conducting lab experiments, precision matters. Every detail counts! Cutting corners may save time initially, but the long-term consequences aren't worth it. I'm lucky I resolved my situation! Have you ever been affected by corner cutting? #Recruitment #QualityMatters #AttentionToDetail #hsquared

DUOBBRAK is a new transmission and braking system and is the primary active safety system that can be installed in any vehicle with any transmission and any engine. This is the primary system because as TESTS has shown together with any type of braking system it can reduce stopping distances up to six times, the original configuration allows for the creation of a double system which: - increases efficiency to ALWAYS stop us in smaller spaces than the current stopping distances. - in the event of any fault in either of the two systems, DUOBBRAK together with the other system that remains operational SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the stopping distance. Two years ago, over 1 million cars were recalled due to brake problems and the European Parliament is also asking us to halve the number of victims and serious injuries caused by road accidents.
DUOBBRAK is for any transmission and works automatically without electronic controls

Noise is one of the more challenging, and certainly frustrating calls a tech can dispatch too. Noise can bounce around inside the copier making it difficult to pinpoint, it can also be intermittent in nature, or only occur at a certain time of day. Fortunately, there are tools and methods at every technician’s disposal in dealing with these types of calls. Priority number one is identifying the noise, then verifying it with the customer. The service mode of most copiers enables a technician to turn on various motors and components, allowing them to isolate individual areas of the copier, thereby removing the ambiguity of just running the entire machine. Running individual motors can help isolate noise to a specific component or drive assembly which can then be inspected or swapped out. A seasoned technician will have a mental checklist of noise issues for each model they service and begin to recount them the moment such a service ticket crosses their phone. Jam and error code lists should be reviewed as they may offer the needed clue in identifying a part of the machine that is potentially failing. Manufacturer documentation and tech support should be utilized, remember you’re probably not the first technician to experience any given problem be it noise or otherwise. Pay close attention to the life of consumable parts and ask the correct funneling questions of your customers. If necessary, schedule the call for the time of day your customer is reporting the issue. A few years back a Canon 5200 series was making a howling noise in the morning that subsided after the first few jobs. Dried up grease in the fuser fixing film, that was at 159% of its consumable life, was to blame. The faulty gear pictured below was extracted from the fuser drive assembly of a Toshiba 7506ac. Intermittent C4E2 errors indicated the fuser belt wasn’t rotating at times. Running the fuser motor isolated the noise to the fuser area, swapping the fuser isolated the issue to the drive assembly. #serviceexcellence #copiers #technology #technician #qualityfirst #veterans #skilledworkers #troubleshooting

"We've been doing it like this for years." ...doesn't mean it's working. Here's a call recap from yesterday that may be applicable to some of you. For context, the company uses local technicians for low-voltage support needs which includes break-fix as well as new site installs (cabling, cameras, APs, AV items.) RD: How's are your techs performing? Prospect: Pretty good most of the time. RD: Most of the time? What's your monthly service volume look like? Prospect: We had about 140 tickets last month. RD: Any idea what the success rate is where there's no call backs or hiccups? Prospect: About 75-80%. RD: 75%?! So you're falling short on 30-40 tickets monthly and the company is OK with that? Prospect: Well we've been doing it like this for years. 😦 😖 🤢 ☠ Change can be uncomfortable. Failure should always make you uncomfortable. Don't allow the fear of change to prevent you from succeeding.

Remember, urgency is created by a sense that time is of the essence. The customer has to understand, “There will be a possible negative impact if I wait.” The three most straightforward elements for a technician to create urgency are explaining what will happen, what is happening, or offering a limited-time sale.
