Our Summer 2024 newsletter is available now on the website! In this edition, we share key program updates such as the newly established Complex Addictions Treatment (CAT) team in medical respite, relaunch of the HER Saturday clinic, 10th anniversary celebration of the Hep C team and a special highlight on Pam Sprouse, director of BHCHP’s Harm Reduction Services and our amazing harm reduction team! Dr. Denise De Las Nueces, our Chief Medical Officer and Interim CEO writes, “I want to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to you—our family of donors—who have supported us so generously in this shared journey with our patients. It is your generosity that allows us to be responsive to health crises and the changing needs of our patients, innovative in creating cutting-edge programs, and present to our patients whether in our clinics, respite program or on the streets. As we approach the 40th anniversary of BHCHP in 2025, I trust that with our collective efforts we will continue to fulfill our important mission.” We hope you’ll enjoy reading this interesting set of articles bringing valuable information and notes from our program to you! https://bit.ly/3xi6Dr5

November is CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the challenges those living with this debilitating condition face. CRPS affects individuals in profound ways, causing excruciating pain and impacting their quality of life. We must raise awareness and support those affected by CRPS, fostering a sense of unity and empathy. Let us unite, educate ourselves, and extend compassion to those enduring this relentless battle. Through understanding and advocacy, we can work towards better diagnosis, treatment, and a brighter future for those living with CRPS. https://ow.ly/Wghm50Q3N7K

Big shout out to this group who attended our Florida Peer Network Monthly Meeting: An Overview of Recovery Month 2023 last week!🎗💜👏 We had a great discussion about what recovery means to us. If you couldn't make it and want to join the next meeting, register here: https://lnkd.in/eaV5dGya. At the meeting, our peers shared really inspiring stories about their own paths to recovery - from Aidan Swords, from Patients Not Prisoners, who said, "Recovery for me is maintaining a stable mood through medication, therapy, and interacting with others without causing them or myself pain and turmoil,” to Michael Jones JR from Northern Star Peer Network, "Recovery means to me an ongoing journey that we as peers and family undergo to have and sustain a wholistic state where we have a healthy and hopeful outlook." Chelsea Stacy, MAT COC, says, "Recovery means being present in my life, not being on autopilot. Recovery has become an act of self-love in the form of conscience discipline." We want to continue the conversation! So, what does recovery mean to you? Share your thoughts below! 🤗 #FloridaPeerNetworkMonthlyMeeting #FloridaPeerNetwork #monthlymeeting #overviewofrecoverymonth #recoverymonth2023 #whatdoesrecoverymeantoyou #recoverymatters #recoveryispossible #recoverycommunity #mentalhealth #substanceusdisorder #peersupport #pscfl
