The Overture Superfactory will build on North Carolina’s distinguished history of aviation innovation, including the Wright Brothers flying the world’s first engine-powered airplane in Kitty Hawk in 1903. “North Carolina is well known for being ‘First in Flight’ – and with the completion of Boom’s Overture Superfactory, we’re also now first in supersonic flight,” said N.C. Commerce Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders. “This is another major step forward in Boom’s vision for sustainable supersonic flight, and another step forward in North Carolina’s ‘First in Talent’ goal of providing a clean energy future that creates jobs, reduces harmful emissions, and protects our environment.” Like Overture, the Superfactory will prioritize sustainability and is expected to be at least 40% more energy efficient compared to other similar manufacturing facilities. Heck yeah! Having grown up visiting the dunes Kitty Hawk, NC every summer where the Wright Brothers took flight, this is especially cool to see. Kudos to Boom Supersonic and the state of NC!
Where is the engine being built?
I can’t wait to fly!
👏😃
Bravo
Great stuff, although as a transplanted Kiwi I will continue to maintain that the Wright Brothers were probably 3rd or 4th, they just had the best press. You are carrying on a grand tradition!

1moI love it. You’re new facility is less than 7 minutes away from my home. I don’t mind the sound of the planes arriving or leaving. Excited to hear the BOOM! Welcome to the neighborhood!!!
