“I started Boom because I believed the world needed supersonic flight. The world is not well served by a duopoly where there is no incentive to build a leapfrog product.” Boom founder and CEO Blake Scholl discusses why innovation is stuck in a holding pattern. https://lnkd.in/eZpAzsU2

Boom Supersonic - What you're doing is great and sincerely hope you succeed as on long range routes London - Australia, Japan to UK, USA - Japan etc there is a need for supersonic airliners. The long range routes on this page would also hugely benefit from supersonic airliners - https://simpleflying.com/air-india-longest-us-routes/?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=LinkedIn#Echobox=1719641226 For 20 years BA and Airbus proved Concorde was safe, could make money and co-exist with subsonic planes like the 747, 777 etc. Since Concorde's grounding Airbus have not built "son-of-Concorde" for many reasons including - Lack of interest from airlines. Lack of new routes due to the sonic boom. Tree huggers and bean counters. If NASA can reduce the sonic boom so planes can flying supersonic over land then NASA's designs could be refined, tuned and incorporated in to future supersonic airliners. This would open a new market for supersonic airliners as airlines would buy these 2nd generation of Supersonic airliners.

I 100% percent agree with this, in fact i'd go on to say that innovation is stuck in a holding pattern due to complacency across multiple sectors.

We need another commercial aerospace manufacturer in the US. The current one has lost its way and choose the bottom line versus innovation

Lack of competition leads companies monopolizing the market which in turn hinder innovation and advancements. This is why companies like Boom Supersonic is important, it will push evolution and improvement of products, safety and services.
