We commemorate Juneteenth as a ministry committed to human dignity and equality and reflect on this day with this prayer. God of liberation, Today we celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in America. Open our eyes that we might recognize in each other sisters and brothers with a common origin and a shared destiny. May this great celebration of liberty and life inspire us to continue the work of justice and freedom, pursuing and promoting the dignity of all. We pray in the name of God who strengthens us in our quest for love and light. Amen.

Remembering September 11th, 2001: A Prayer to End the Killing in the Name of God by Timothy King Lent God, the Lord of all peoples, nations and languages: Save us from the insanity that all-too-often lurks within the human heart. Put an end to the senseless acts of killing, which are committed in Your Name. Since You are Love, may we reject all acts of hatred that use You to justify them. Since You are Just, may we bring to justice those who commit acts of injustice in Your Name, using religion to advance their political and ideological interests. May we seek true peace, founded upon justice, not a false “peace at any price,” which compromises the advancement of human rights for all people, regardless of their religion, race, nationality and gender. May we tolerate our legitimate differences, not evil and injustice. May we rightfully use Your Name to promote the truly human values of love, peace, solidarity and justice among each other and all the peoples of the earth. Amen.

If we want to lead righteous lives, faithful to our calling as servants of our Lord, it’s important we understand the significance of changed lives not just patched up ones. If we are truly committed to changing our sinful behavior, we need to be sure that we are committed to making the hard and sometimes painful changes that are necessary. Believing is one thing--doing is another. http://wix.to/Ax0RCXj #newblogpost

In preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year, Pope Francis designated 2024 as a Year of Prayer, dedicated “to rediscovering the great value and absolute need for prayer, prayer in personal life, in the life of the Church, prayer in the world.” Effective evangelization requires prayer at its core. Prayer nourishes our faith and at the same time helps us grow in holiness. Consider making a gift to help us draw more people into, or deeper into, the Catholic faith: https://lnkd.in/g2eMmXRf

Are you a new believer? Or have you been a Christian your whole life? Either way, take a moment to reflect on your life right now. If you say you are saved, you must reflect Christ's character today! Let’s hold up a mirror to ourselves with Matthew 5 (The Beatitudes): 🔺 Humble in spirit: Recognize your need for God and rely on His strength. 🔺 Compassionate: Show empathy and comfort to those in distress. 🔺 Gentle and meek: Approach others with kindness and humility. 🔺 Passionate for righteousness: Seek justice and live by God's values. 🔺 Merciful: Extend forgiveness and kindness to others. 🔺 Pure in heart: Strive for sincerity and moral integrity. 🔺 Peacemakers: Promote peace and reconciliation. 🔺 Steadfast in persecution: Stay faithful and righteous, even in hardship. 🔺 Joyful despite adversity: Maintain a positive spirit, even when facing insults or false accusations for your faith. Uniting around our shared basis of faith, the Evangelical Alliance is made up of thousands of individuals, churches and organisations. We make the following commitments to our members: 👉 We promise to introduce you to like-minded Christians from across the UK. 👉 We promise to share the wealth of resources, expertise and idea of our members with our members. 👉 We promise to champion the freedoms we have in the UK to have a public faith in Jesus and share that faith with others. 👉 We promise to represent the needs and interests of the church in politics, the media and civil society.
