R e s e a r c h Arch_Manu [ARC Centre for Next-Gen Architectural Manufacturing], in collaboration with industry partners Architectus, Cox Architecture, Grimshaw, and Tzannes, and our office has launched its #hackathon program to develop solutions for critical challenges in the architecture and engineering industries. The inaugural Arch_Manu hackathon brought together participants from Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide, as well as international locations including London, Frankfurt, Paris, and New York. The 20 participants representing both industry and academia were divided into four teams to explore the two chosen topics: Post-classification of BIM Elements and Digitising Kits of Rules. Our colleague Ljuba, who is Head of Design Technology at B G described the hack project as ‘not only a learning experience, but also a fusion of interdisciplinary expertise, leading to innovative concepts and fresh perspectives’. From B G side our colleagues Ljuba, Marc, and Alexander as experts from the B G Design Technology Group teamed up with the colleagues of Grimshaw London (Ivana Petrusevski, Hesham Shawqy, Shahrzad Fereidouni) to tackle the Challenge Digitising Kits of Rules.
