A rubber-tyred metro is a form of rapid transit system that uses a mix of road and rail technology. 

The City of Raleigh is making a big step forward in developing and constructing a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, a more timely and less costly solution to mass transit than Light Rail. "BRT is a bus-based public transport system designed to have much more capacity, reliability and other quality features than a conventional bus system." The first line is fully funded and just commenced construction. It will connect two of the biggest economic development engines in Raleigh: WakeMed Hospital and Downtown. I am hoping that the City does indeed zone the entire spine as a Transit Overlay District (TOD), which will facilitate more rapid development and help ensure the success of BRT. There is already momentum along New Bern Avenue with a significant number of affordable units already built and also planned. Proud to say that we have been a player in this district with trading a number of properties in the last several years. New York City has been considering congestion pricing as a way to reduce traffic congestion and generate revenue for public transportation and infrastructure improvements for some time. This initiative was part of a broader plan to address transportation issues and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the city. Many other cities around the world have already implemented similar congestion pricing to manage traffic and improve urban mobility. I've posted several cities below that already do this. London, United Kingdom: London's congestion pricing system, known as the Congestion Charge, has been in place since 2003. It charges a fee to vehicles entering certain areas of Central London during specific hours on weekdays. Singapore: Singapore has one of the most comprehensive road pricing systems in the world. The Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system charges drivers for using specific roads during peak hours. Stockholm, Sweden: Stockholm has a congestion pricing system that charges vehicles for entering the city center during peak hours. The system is active on weekdays. Oslo, Norway: Oslo has implemented a congestion charge in certain zones of the city to reduce traffic and promote the use of public transport. Gothenburg, Sweden: Gothenburg introduced a congestion pricing system to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in the city. Milan, Italy: Milan's congestion pricing program charges vehicles to enter the city center during certain hours on weekdays. Bergen, Norway: Bergen, like other Norwegian cities, has implemented congestion pricing to manage traffic and improve urban mobility. Durham, United Kingdom: Durham's congestion pricing system, known as the Durham Congestion Charge, charges vehicles to enter the city center during certain hours.
