I enjoy a good Instagram short on civil engineering around the world, seems that the Indians, Chinese and even the Australians are currently transfixed on solutions that have been tried and failed in Europe and the US, i.e. massive high level double decker viaducts designed to speed cars to their destination… or do they just elevate the congestion above the people that live below these structures. I’d be interested in hearing from engineers in these countries in particular and how this new breed of viaduct intends to avoid the problems we had here in Europe - i.e. there’s not much point getting to the city quicker, if you have to wait in a queue just as long to get off the viaduct once you get to the city.
