Meeting successful and well-known individuals can offer a wealth of insights and inspiration that transcend mere admiration. It's not just about rubbing elbows with the elite; it's about delving into their journeys, absorbing their experiences, and understanding the grit and determination that propelled them to where they are today. One of the most invaluable aspects of such encounters is the opportunity to learn from their struggles. Behind every success story lies a myriad of challenges, setbacks, and failures. Hearing firsthand accounts of these obstacles humanizes success and provides a roadmap for navigating one's journey. It's a reminder that adversity is not a roadblock but a stepping stone, and resilience is key to overcoming it. It was a true honor to have had the opportunity to meet Tommy Hilfiger. 👟 Embracing Authenticity: From Sneakerhead to Business Leader 🌟 Adam C. Bandelli, Ph.D. Flashback three or four years ago, I'd never dreamt of showcasing my collection of 200 sneakers. I worried my clients might think I'm eccentric, but little did they know, I'm a passionate sneakerhead with two decades of collecting experience under my belt. One day, during a team discussion about our backgrounds and what defines us, someone suggested, 'You've got all those Jordans, why not display them proudly? It's a part of your identity and authenticity.' Since I took that leap about 2.5 years ago, it's become the one thing clients remember me for. I'm now known as 'the shoe guy' to some of my clients. It all started with vulnerability and a commitment to sharing my genuine self. This simple act inspired my teammates and direct reports to do the same. Whether you're a leader or a team member, remember that modeling authenticity and being comfortable in your own skin can lead to remarkable connections and success. Some of the best leaders I coach understand this, embrace it, and encourage their teams to follow suit. 🙌👞 #AuthenticLeadership #BeYourself #TeamSpirit

Conscious Vibes, Authentic Boss, Local Biz Rocks! | Director of Coalition Resources at Local First AZ
Get your stretchy pants on - we're eating leadership for breakfast. Imagine slipping into your favorite pair of Spanx. (hang in there with me. shapewear exists for everyone.) It’s snug, right? But here’s the fun part—it stretches juuust enough to make everything work. 👉 Now, think of your career blips like that pair of Spanx. A bit tight, a tad uncomfortable, but oh, how they shape you! 😆 Sara Blakely, the genius behind Spanx, had her world of no’s. Law school dreams? Stretched out of shape. Sales gigs? Squeezed by rejection. And her Spanx idea? Initially, it seemed like it wouldn’t fit anywhere in the market. Yet, she kept pulling and stretching through every -no- until she found her perfect fit. And guess what? She didn’t just create an iconic brand, she reshaped an industry. 👉 This is where you come in. You're the new boss on the block, and yes, those “Spanx-like” squeezes—those failures—are part of your journey. ✅ They’re uncomfortable, sure, but they’re also what will sculpt your path to leadership. So, next time you hit a snag, think of it as your career Spanx. It’s just trying to find the best way to fit and support your growth. Like Sara, who turned her “too tight” moments into a billion-dollar brand, what’s one squeeze you’ve faced? More importantly, how did it help you find your fit in the leadership world? VVV I'm here to help you find your leadership fit. Follow me Alyssa P. and we'll grow together. #thatnewboss #failure #newleaders #Spanx #sarablakely #letssizeup

I help sales reps and leaders go from good to great by mastering the mindset, habits, and skills needed in their careers.
"Things have changed." Nike executive Rob Strasser's 1977 principles might be decades old, but they're as relevant today as ever. Great advice is often like that. Timeless. Throughout my career, I've watched companies lose sight of their core values in the face of rapid growth. And while I only discovered Strasser's principles this year, I was struck by how they mirrored beliefs I’ve held as mine for years. It’s as if I’ve instinctively felt and practiced what was articulated almost 5 decades ago. The principle "our business is change" holds a special place in my heart. In sales and life, the phrase "things have changed" is a powerful tool to shift perspectives and challenge the norm. How are you dealing with change? PS. Which of Rob’s principles speaks to you? Do they mirror your beliefs or challenge them? #sales #winning #growth #thingshavechanged

17 Years at Clothes2order As the founder and chairman of Clothes2Order.com, I've had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the dedication and commitment of our team. Just recently, we said farewell to a remarkable team member who had been with us for an astonishing 17 years, joining when we were merely a 10-person team. This milestone has made me reflect on our core values and the essence of our success. Business, while challenging, simplifies when we focus on people. The formula is straightforward: recruit and retain a great group of individuals dedicated to both personal and team success. Employee satisfaction isn't just part of our philosophy; it's a foundation for success. Customers' satisfaction is directly related to our team’s happiness as well as ability and commitment, the result is that Clothes2Order boasts more independent 5-star reviews than any other player in our industry. The longevity of service of our team members is a silent yet powerful testament to the nurturing environment we strive to uphold. Saying goodbye is never easy, but it's a reminder of the impact we can have on each other's lives. It reminds leaders that business is about people. I would love to hear any comments you have on what you have done to foster a great work culture ? #EmployeeSatisfaction #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership #ApparelIndustry #CustomBranding #Craftsmanship #Teamwork #Clothes2Order #FarewellTribute #legacy #BusinessGrowth #businesssuccess

Catwalks may be more diverse than a few years ago, but what about the boardrooms? A new report says fashion brands would do better business if they were more inclusive. Same goes for the #ukhousing sector. There is diversity at the bottom which is not reflected in #leadership teams or in the boardrooms or even within the regulators. #fashion #housing #professionals #equity #promotion #business #boardroom #leadership #representationmatters Chartered Institute of Housing National Housing Federation The G15 UNIFY Network BMENational https://lnkd.in/ex4HfSdp

YODA RETAIL | RETHINK Retail Top Expert 2024 | Leadership Development | Merchant | Transformation & Change Coach | Retail Pioneer - Mad Man Era to Today |
Retail Today / Retail Renaissance: The Macy’s issue, isn’t going to be solved this morning. But how about a few minutes with retail icon Mickey Drexler? Probably one of the biggest game changers in the fashion industry in the last 40 years. Mickey touched Gap, J.Crew, Old Navy, Madewell and now Alex Mill. Mickey took us from suits, ties and formal business attire to casual Friday, now business casual all the time. Comfortable clothes but with a hint of style. His impact on fashion can’t be overstated, we live and dress in a society that Mickey envisioned. Built on the principles of “selling nice quality goods at a good value.” Mickey’s Leadership Style: Being difficult - High Standards; Humility - more than money. “Success is how you treat people” Organizational Development: His desire, “People who have an ownership mentality” ❤️ #retail #apparelindustry #fashion #style #design #stores #brandexperience #retailtrends #retailindustry #icon #leadership #organizationaldevelopment #gap #oldnavy #jcrew #madewell #alexmill #apple #tjmaxx #benetton
