The past few months have been an exciting challenge as I transitioned from student to intern as a business consulting analyst! This might seem like a switch in gears, but my financial math background has been surprisingly useful. The strong analytical skills and problem-solving I developed are key assets in consulting. It's not just about crunching numbers anymore – it's about using data to understand complex business problems and recommend impactful solutions. Instead of optimising financial models, I'm helping companies optimise their strategies. 🚀Second day of Internship Experience UK 2024 at Bright Network – Part 1! ✅Laura Tye from Clyde & Co. has kicked off the keynote, talking about her personal and professional hardships and progression. Her story was very inspiring to hear as she talked about her journey with changes in careers and countries. She is such a positive and resilient female role model who has inspired me! ✨The takeaways from Laura’s speech: Resilience is key; setbacks make you more determined Be eager to learn further Changes in the set career are okay; work where you feel happy ✅The first speaker for the main bit was Dave Pankhurst. He is currently leading BT Group’s Drones division in Etc., BT’s start-up incubation team. He is accountable for BT’s market growth in the drone industry, BT’s product strategy, and commercial development. Learning about BT’s development within the drone industry, the market, the technology, the opportunity in it and what they are doing for the future 🔗Overall, Dave has showcased his passion for working for BT Group, achieving a lot in the years that he has been with the company. ✨The takeaways from Dave's Q&A: Do not be afraid to ask questions and be curious. Katie has worked in analytics and data science for 13 years across various areas of LBG, including credit risk, IT and operations.
