"Kids these days…" "OK, Boomer." You've likely heard remarks like these before. Members of the New West Willow Neighborhood Association (NWWNA) in Ypsilanti Township had too. The disconnect between the young and older members of the West Willow community inspired the all-volunteer nonprofit to home in on intergenerational programming with the help of a local church and funding from our company, the BCBSM Foundation and others. Millions in the U.S. suffer from musculoskeletal conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia, with associated health care costs estimated nationwide to be roughly $600 billion every year. Starting in 2025, we are adding a new virtual tool for Blue Cross and Blue Care Network of Michigan members through Hinge Health to help them manage these painful conditions.
