Last week, our team at the Charleston office had an amazing experience partnering with Operation Home to build a much-needed accessibility ramp for a member of our community. At Blaze, we are passionate about giving back, especially in the housing arena where we can help enhance residents home and living experience.

I am not an expert in this. I’m going to share our Safety Policy for two reasons– 1️⃣ Safety feels like the most important aspect of living with others and I don’t see much shared about how to handle it 2️⃣ Poke holes in it - TEAR IT UP! Share what's worked or not worked. We can all learn from your wisdom. OUR POLICY: https://lnkd.in/g4FWBp7c Most of the Harassment and Assault Policy was a gift from a longstanding co-op in Austin so that we could have procedures that are tried and true. Some of it was co-created with the community after a house crisis, like Community Agreements. Some of this, like Tension and Conflict is from my experience coliving and men’s work and passion. 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 Hi, I'm Kyle Gaarder. I believe community living can transform ourselves and our culture. I dream of a future where community balanced with individualism is common sense and accessible. I share what I'm thinking about to give possible value and find my place within the movement. #coliving #colivingspace #futureofliving #communitysafety Mayank Pokharna

🌟 Empowering Tenants and Transforming Communities in Seattle 🌟 In the heart of downtown Seattle, a story of resilience and change is unfolding. For over a decade, tenants at properties managed by Metropolitan Management Co. have faced numerous challenges due to neglect and mismanagement. Persistent issues like leaks, pests, and poor maintenance have plagued affordable housing units, exacerbating the housing crisis. But change is on the horizon. Through collective action, advocacy, and a commitment to justice, tenants are fighting back, demanding better living conditions, and holding landlords accountable. This fight is about more than just bricks and mortar; it's about ensuring that everyone has access to safe, affordable housing. 🏡 A Brighter Future: Reformed Housing Management: Imagine a future where every apartment building is well-maintained, surrounded by green spaces, and managed by professionals who prioritize tenant welfare. Empowered Communities: Tenants actively participating in community events, attending meetings with local officials, and accessing vital resources and support systems. Safe and Healthy Living Environments: Families enjoying clean and safe living spaces, children playing in secure playgrounds, and a community thriving together. This vision is within our reach, but it requires our collective effort. Let's continue to advocate for tenant rights, push for stricter enforcement of housing laws, and support initiatives that prioritize people over profits. Together, we can build a future where everyone has a place to call home. 🏠💪 #AffordableHousing #TenantRights #CommunityEmpowerment #SeattleHousing #Advocacy #ChangeMakers

Thought I would post some images from the drawing board it’s a potential community project in it’s early stages with the aim to provide much needed and improved facilities to the local sporting community and parish council. We have a long way to go but with belief and dedication of the stakeholders and community we can make it happen. #makeithappen#CommunityCenterDesign#ArchitectureForAll #CommunityEngagement#SustainableDesign#InclusiveSpaces#SocialArchitecture #PublicSpaces #CommunityBuilding #ArchitectureAndCommunity#CommunityWellbeing #AccessibleDesign#CollaborativeArchitecture

Changing demographics are reshaping suburbs. 80*% of net new households for the next 2 decades will be singles and couples without kids, creating unprecedented demand to redevelop malls, office parks, and strip centers into mixed-use walkable places—instead of more sprawl.
Suburban downtowns and main streets willing to break down barriers to new housing, rethink how they utilize their streets, prioritize walkability and focus on activating public space will thrive well into the future. Those that continue to resist needed changes and new housing will not only harm their future prospects but harm their existing residents in the process. Excited to continue my work in 2024 setting communities up for long term, sustainable, success by embracing the full potential in their existing walkable neighborhoods. https://lnkd.in/ew6Bja2f

Husband & Father 💗 | Mayor 💼 | Educator 🗣️ | Community Leader & Advocate 👣 | Avid Reader 📚| Physics Buff 💥
There are many things that must be taken into consideration when building a vibrant and connected community and I think most of us can agree that one of those considerations is SAFETY! ⬅️ Having the ability to designate community safety zones and implement automated speed enforcement ⚠️🚸 are added ways of making our neighbourhoods safe while also creating sustainable and accessible communities that encourage active transportation, and allows individuals and families feel more comfortable accessing schools, parks, green spaces, and rec facilities! This year, our Regional Council have been building on the success of our previously implemented 13 community safety zones across the region by advancing several new Vision Zero programs including the approval of: ✅ 12 additional community safety zones ✅ 10 red light cameras 🛑 📸 and of course ✅ The start of Automated Speed Enforcement 💨 #OurHomeSTC #SafeCommunities #CommunitySafety #OurSafeSTC
