Have you thanked your donors yet? Don't forget to close the loop! After your fall appeal and end-of-year push for donations, you've hopefully brought in a considerable amount of donated funds to fuel your mission, so now it is time to close the loop and help your supporters understand why those funds were so necessary. Here are four ways we are incorporating donor thank-you's into our January strategy: 1. Add a 5-point infographic card folded into tax letters to share impact points. It's always a great idea to make the most of your existing mailings. Print some extras of the infographic half sheets to provide to your Board members for their solicitations and to have on-hand at networking events that they attend. 2. Send a postcard from the E.D. or Board President to all donors announcing the final fundraising total. Draw a clear line between the dollars raised and the work completed so supporters can see the power of their generosity. 3. Send invitations out to donors to attend a casual open-house to share in the celebration of successful funding. This should take the form of an impromptu event for community members and supporters to get to know the organization better and enjoy a positive and welcoming atmosphere. 4. Share digital recognition "badges" with donors via e-blast that they can post to their accounts. People love when their team wins!
