ECECE News 11th July 2024 Erasmus Promoting Circular Economy Thinking and Opportunities among NEETs and low-skills adults 2022- 1-ES01-KA220-ADU-000086651 Today, the consortium partners of the Erasmus project "Promoting Circular Economy Thinking and Opportunities among NEETs and low-skilled adults" gathered to present the new online courses hosted on our Moodle platform. The circular economy involves creating markets that provide incentives to reuse products instead of discarding them and extracting new resources. This project brings together organizations from Spain, Romania, Austria, Greece, and Italy, working collaboratively to empower NEETs (young people not in education, employment, or training) and low-skilled adults. Our goal is to equip them with the essential skills and tools needed to harness the potential of the circular economy, thus easing their entry into the labor market and contributing to a fairer and more sustainable economy. 🚀 ERASMUS PROJECT INSET KICKS OFF!     We're thrilled to announce the successful launch of the INSET project, marking a pivotal moment in our journey towards promoting the implementation of Industrial Symbiosis! 🌱    On the 23rd and 24th of January, the Université de Strasbourg (coordinator) hosted its project partners; CETEM - Centro Tecnológico del Mueble y la Madera , Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, RRA Podravje - Maribor, Símbiosy and Syxis.    🎯 The meeting focused on the development of methodologies for capacity building, making Industrial Symbiosis accessible to both public and private entities.     💡 The discussions were followed by an insightful workshop where three key stakeholders, France Clusters, MATERALIA and sibila.eu, provided valuable feedback on the methodology outlined in Work Package 2. Let's explore the #ErasmusPlus Teacher Academies for sustainability education! 🌱📚 This time, its the Academy for Sustainable Future Educators (EduSTA). EduSTAR (https://lnkd.in/epC6Rzfp) brings an innovative approach to operationalising teachers’ sustainability competencies. EduSTAR responds to the competencies needs created by the European Green Deal by creating Digital Open Badges, a type of microcredential for teachers to earn and acquire. Each badge represents one of the four sustainability competencies identified by the project: Sustainability literacy, Reflexive Practice, Learning Ecosystem Design, and Enabling Action, with 9 sub-badges within each. EduSTAR supports teachers to acquire these microcredentials by designing and gathering learning resources and piloting educational design, and also offers different learning pathways for teachers depending on their prior skills and experience. By earning all sub-badges, a teacher will earn the Metabadge, for which EduSTAR expects approximately 300 teachers to acquire this year. Last week our annual design competition launched for all Oksa students in Helsinki. This year's competition sums up our key concept of interdisciplinary practice. The three key themes of the Oksa program are nature, culture and technology. This year our design competition asks students to redesign Rudyard to fit its new job better. Rudyards job as an emotion robot helping children with difficulties identifying emotions has come to an end. Its program will not be updated and the face which once shone bright has now faded. Luckily Rudyard gets reassigned to a new job on a farm.  We ask students to think about purpose and how the requirements of the new job will impact the new form. The final designs are not only judged by visual execution, but the appropriate implementation of the design brief and the originality of the idea. In the example of the old Rudyard, nature is used as an inspiration for its physical form.    The Oksa program aims to teach children and young people the importance of creative thinking and innovation and encourages students to adopt an interdisciplinary mindset to create new and unexpected outcomes.
