CLIA total allowable error As healthcare providers, we understand the importance of accurate laboratory testing results in patient care. That's why we must be familiar with CLIA total allowable error for different tests and its impact on patient outcomes. For those who are not familiar, CLIA stands for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments, which are federal regulations that establish quality standards for laboratory testing. Total allowable error refers to the maximum amount of error that is allowed in laboratory testing results, and it is crucial for ensuring accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. As per CLIA regulations, different laboratory tests have different total allowable error limits, which are designed to ensure that the test results are reliable and accurate. It's our responsibility as medical lab technologists to adhere to these limits, maintain quality control, and report any errors promptly. By understanding CLIA total allowable error, we can ensure that our patients receive the correct diagnosis and treatment. It also helps us identify potential issues in our lab processes and take corrective actions to improve them. As medical lab technologists, we play a crucial role in delivering accurate and reliable laboratory testing results. So, let's work together to promote awareness about CLIA total allowable error and its significance in patient care. #CLIAtotalallowableerror#Medical lab Technologist #medical lab Technician#

Why - the question that sparks curiosity. There’s a huge difference between a medical lab scientist👨🏿🔬 and someone who performs lab tests (medical lab technician). Anyone can be shown how to perform tests and observe results, even with complex instruments like microscopes, which are more intricate compared to other automated machines. What sets a scientist apart is knowing the why: why the tests are done, the principles behind the machines, and the significance of the results. In addition, a lab scientist should understand why every action matters—from the seemingly mundane, like wearing a lab coat 🥼, to the specifics, like why a finger prick is preferred over other sampling methods. This mindset isn't limited to lab scientists. Anyone aiming to make an impact in any field should embrace this curiosity. Asking why drives innovation and discovery building from what was formerly established or invented, and paving the way for new advancements. Reflecting on why we have what we have deepens our gratitude and appreciation for everything around us. Why do you have that job, that family, that friend, that home, that opportunity? The list is endless. Take a moment to reflect and ask why. You might be surprised at where your curiosity leads you. #WhyThatMatters #Curiosity #PersonalGrowth #Education #Gratitude #Innovation #Love

Good morning good people? Today I would like to tell you how I found myself in the field of Medical Laboratory Science. It all started in my high school days,I was in form two (SS2) in a local school where we had only one laboratory and therefore we could easily interact with our laboratory technician Madam Peninah by name. she was always in a lab coat, the sight of it was intriguing. I loved her in that coat. Now the most interesting part was while we were doing our practicals!!!I never understood how one could mix fluids and get different colors just like that🙆🙆🙆. You get me,right? I was curious to know how that was possible, that's how I developed an interest for lab works. While in my final year in high school,I made another discovery that apart from working in a teaching laboratory you can also work in a hospital set up. Doing what really??? Testing people's samples to ascertain what their ailment is:this was it. By this time I knew what I wanted to do. After clearing high school I came back home only to find my elder brother who was in university with a labcoat, what a coincidence? Out of curiosity I wanted to understand what he was studying then, special education for the blind and therefore they used the coat while using braille.Of key?yes. I knew my brother's coat would bey first coat to wear at work which happened later. Bro forgive me I know you don't know where that coat disappeared to🤣. I am giving this story so you can understand what passion does, today I am a proud medical laboratory technologist. Am doing what I love and therefore it looks like a hobby for me,I do it with ease. I hope we are all doing what we love!!!!. Have a fruitful day #Medical Laboratory science #passionandpurpose #scientist
