This resonated a lot. Development Trusts shouldn’t have to be stepping into the realm of housing, public transport, net zero transition, community ownership of shops, pubs and land in order to get the outcomes that their communities need - but when the public sector and private sector aren’t delivering those outcomes, who takes up the slack? The Third sector, of course. But we’re not resourced to do it and we can’t do it alone, so it’s exhausting. A new model of partnership working across the sectors is needed.
🗣 It is "very clear" from our research that Scottish charities believe public services are failing, and that the government has "failed to support" them, says Kenneth Ferguson. 📚 Read our report, Drowning Not Waving 👇 https://lnkd.in/e2tyBmzJ
