« It is under pressure that you show your true colors » as #climate faces some headwinds (both political and economic) while fundamentals are accelerating (climate change happening faster than anticipated by many), how do we stay true to our North Star commitment towards a more sustainability future and keep supporting our clients in such context? « When there is backlash, it means things are happening » #esg facing huge backlash in the US, some companies realizing SBTi alignment is too challenging in the short term… Let’s take these as positive signs that the pressure is on to not only commit but most importantly deliver Here are the two inspiring thoughts I have walked away from our LT meeting with. Always energizing to feel the passion and commitment of this amazing group to be bolder on #climate and #sustainability.

Last year I had incredible opportunity to attend the Global Youth Climate Summit 2023, held from October 4-7. I'm proud to share that this impactful summit was focused on empowering young leaders with climate science and knowledge while fostering leadership in combating climate change with in our communities. The summit delve deep into crucial topics beyond climate science, emphasizing the urgency of collective action and innovation in areas such as 🌱Sustainable practices and green technologies for a cleaner future. 🌊The intersectionality of climate change with biodiversity conservation and ocean health. 🏙Urban planning and policy strategies to build resilient and climate-smart cities. 👫The role of the youth activism and engagement in driving sustainable climate solutions forward. 🌐Global climate justice and equity initiatives. Reflecting on this experience, I am inspired to continue advocating for environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. Let's leverage our learnings to create positive impacts and drive meaningful change. 🌍 Welcome to the Future of Climate Action: Innovation Capacity Building for a Regenerative World 🤝 Event Overview In collaboration with the Inner Green Deal, the Inner Development Goals Community Hub Bonn & Cologne participated in the United Nations Climate Change Committee Global Innovation Hub (UGIH) Retreat in Bonn. A two-day melting pot of ideas, led by Massamba Thioye aimed at expanding the global innovation space to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Our incredible delegation consisted of Jannik Kaiser, 🦜 Laila Jessica Braga Martins Klaus Mertens, and myself. Kamil Barbarski was in our hearts and minds as he was home caring for a new human. 💡 Objective & Impact: Transforming Climate Solutions through Inner Human Dimensions Our focus was to integrate inner development to enhance and accelerate impactful actions towards a regenerative future. With a 96% satisfaction rate in our recent sustainability leadership programs, we emphasized the importance of capacity building and complexity awareness. 🌱 Collaborative Approach: Fostering Deep Connections and Environmental Awareness Day 1 highlighted UGIH's achievements and challenges, while Day 2 involved in-depth discussions on new business models, resource mobilization and governance. On both days, we also had the immense honor of practically showcasing our work by facilitating interactive experiences. We illustrated the significance of inner development in our connection with nature, and understanding complexity through the lens of our ancestors and future generations. 🔗 Future Aspirations: Aligning Inner Development with Global Sustainability Goals We are now exploring collaborations with the UNFCCC, our commitment is to align our expertise in innovation capacity building with UGIH's moonshot thinking and need-oriented approach. 🌟 Join Us on Our Journey to a Regenerative World Stay tuned as we innovate for a regenerative world, placing caring, sharing, and daring at the heart of climate change solutions. Youth4Climate Flagship Event 2023: Sparking Solutions October 17 – 19, 2023 Youth4Climate Solutions Y4C and its partners launched a Call for Solutions in October 2022 that closed in March 2023. Structured as an innovation challenge, this first Y4C Call for Solutions aims to support the work of young people and youth-led or youth-focused organizations in four thematic areas: Climate Education, Energy, Food and Agriculture, and Urban Sustainability. From among 1,100 proposals received, 100 projects from 63 countries have been shortlisted and invited to attend the Youth4Climate: Sparking Solutions Flagship Event in Rome on 17-19 October 2023. The 2024 United Nations Civil Society Conference sparked impassioned discussions and catalyzed collective action towards environmental sustainability. This gathering, which convened global leaders, changemakers, and activists, served as a beacon of hope and inspiration in our collective journey towards a more sustainable and equitable world. 🌐⚖🕊 Under the theme of "Shaping a Future of Global and Sustainable Progress," the conference brought together diverse voices united by a common vision: to address the pressing challenges facing our planet and communities.
