Source: Journal of proteomics Glypican-1 may be a plasma biomarker for predicting the rupture of small intracranial aneurysms. A study found that the plasma concentration of GPC1 was significantly higher in patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms compared to those with unruptured aneurysms. Logistic regression analysis identified GPC1 as an independent risk factor for predicting aneurysm rupture. The study suggests that GPC1 could serve as an early warning biomarker for predicting the rupture of small intracranial aneurysms.
