This is so important... and a great initiative by Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies) - we must do all we can to make talking about mental health issues a 'no-brainer'. Great that The Farming Community Network is supporting #MindYourHead. #mentalhealthinfarming #farminghelp #itsgoodtotalk #problemssharedareproblemshalved #ifyouarenotOKhelpisthere
#MindYourHead is now in its 7th year - a campaign run by Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies) and supported by our industry, which helps to break down the stigma attached to poor mental health in the farming sector and recognise the current pressures on farmers. FCN and other farming support charities help to support farmers, farming families and others within the agricultural sector through any issues, concerns or worries. FCN can be contacted in confidence on 03000 111 999 (open 7am-11pm, 365 days of the year) or [email protected]. We understand farming life and its unique pressures - we are here to listen and support you. We also take a proactive, positive approach to change, 'walking with' farmers and helping them to consider their options, plan ahead, and live and farm well. Visit our FarmWell website to learn more about how we are supporting farmers' personal and business resilience, and to access a wide range of resources and information: https://farmwell.org.uk/ #farminghelp #farminglife #farminguk #backbritishfarming #agriculture #farmwell #farmsafety #mentalhealth

Happy #DairyMonth from Sunflower Economic Development Corporation! DYK the dairy industry in Kansas is not just about producing delicious milk, cheese, and ice cream – it’s a major #economic engine driving our communities forward! Here’s how: ✅ Economic Boost: The dairy industry contributes in excess of $1.3 billion annually to the #Kansas economy. ✅ Job Creation: Kansas dairy farms provide more than 12,000 jobs, from farmhands to truck drivers, veterinarians to dairy technicians, helping our communities thrive. ✅ Production Powerhouse: Kansas is home to more than 300 dairy farms, producing at least 4 billion pounds of milk each year. ✅ Community Support: Dairy farms are often family-owned and operated, contributing to the tight-knit fabric of our #rural communities. They support local schools, events, and charities, making #RuralKS a better place for everyone. ✅ Sustainability: Many dairies are committed to sustainable practices, ensuring we protect our environment while producing high-quality dairy products. So, let’s raise a glass (of milk, of course!) to our hardworking dairy farmers and the delicious, nutritious products they bring to our tables every day. Cheers to #NationalDairyMonth and the continued #growth and prosperity of western Kansas!

🌱🐔 Empowering Future Generations through Family Farming! 🌟👨👩👧👦 I couldn't be prouder to share the incredible journey of my family's involvement in Hydro Coops farming! Each of my amazing kids tends to 3 Hydro Coops, while Lize Marie leads the charge with an impressive 6 Coops. Together, they're making a profound impact on both our local community and the agricultural landscape. 🌾🚜 🐣🌿 In just six weeks, our family farm produces a staggering 2250 broiler chickens, securing a profit exceeding R140,000. But our mission goes beyond profits; it's about giving back. Every month, we're honored to donate over 6000 eggs and more than 5000 fresh vegetables to support local communities in need. 🥚🥕 Through Hydro Coops, we've not only found a sustainable source of income but also a platform for meaningful contribution. Our children are learning invaluable lessons in entrepreneurship, responsibility, and the joy of giving back. Together, we're proving that even the smallest efforts can make a big difference. 🌟💚 Join us in celebrating the power of family farming and the positive impact it can have on both livelihoods and communities. Let's continue to sow seeds of change and nurture a brighter, more compassionate future for all. #FamilyFarming #HydroCoops #SustainableAgriculture #CommunityImpact 🌱🐔

How do we spend the donations that we receive?” Of course, when you are donating to a cause, you must know exactly where your money is going. We are proud to say that 95% of the budget goes directly towards trainings and irrigation technology. This involves equipping farmers with sustainable agricultural training, hand-crank irrigation pumps, and windmills for large-scale irrigation. Only 5% of the budget is used for audits, fees, and raising awareness. We are committed to total transparency – because we are committed to building communities rooted in genuine support.
