Disappointing Dining Experience at Butter - Bar & Kitchen, Balewadi Pune Hi Deepinder Goyal & Zomato India, I want to share my recent dining experience at Butter - Bar & Kitchen, Balewadi Pune. Recently we visited Butter Restaurant where we had dinner and received a bill with 10% service charge. We asked to remove the service charge and the restaurant managers clearly denied removing the service tax, which is clearly bogus. Also, at first when we asked the manager to remove the service tax, then he offered to reduce it to 5%(from 10%) which we agreed. They even brought the bill with minimized service tax(to 5%), but as soon as he heard that we are going to pay via Zomato, he straight away backed out from offering minimized service tax and also said that we can’t use the Zomato to pay the bill, if they reduce the service tax. This clearly means, that they have absolutely no regard for government laws, no regard for the Zomato Gold tie up, and absolutely ignorant of customer experience. Also he was adamant and complete stubborn to levy the extra service tax. And he literally compelled us to pay the extra illegal service tax(10%). We on our part, paid the bill with 10% extra service tax(280 inr) and left, as we could clearly see that all they care about is milking the customers for money, and not create customer relationships and they really behave like “to hell with customer” when it comes to minting that extra service tax money. So we would also like to conclude our distasteful and shameless experience on their part, as our last ever visit to this place, because the moment we bring up the topic of xtra service tax on bill with them, they’ll made sure to make it a terrible experience for us. #worstexperience #zomato #butter

Wine retailers, such as wine shops, have two solutions to be able to sell their products through e-commerce. A) In case they sell to EU individuals who will not market the products purchased, THEY WILL MAKE A SALES INVOICE WITH iVA EXPOSED (You can use the new OSS system but not the IOSS system for products subject to excise duty) and with excise duty exposed (which in Italy, for wine is ZERO). B) In the case of sale to private and non-private parties who will instead market the purchased products, a code must be opened as a certified/authorized consignor and the customer must open a code as a registered recipient. All this will have to be managed, given that these are products already subject to excise duty, with the e-DAS telematic system, providing a guarantee on the excise duty charged in the country of destination. DELIVERY: CASE A) IN CHARGE TO THE FINAL CUSTOMER UE CASE B) All the transaction parts can manage the delivery #excise #UE #wine #e-das #VAT #internationalcommerce #compliance

Here are some interesting stories from the world of retail for New Year's Eve, December 31: 📉 The worst of inflation could be behind us. A recession may not be. The past year saw the lowest level of beer consumed in the US in a generation, according to industry group Beer Marketer’s Insights. 🏪 The closing of destination businesses, such as movie theaters or a sporting complex, can have serious consequences beyond near-term sales for the smaller businesses in the area, notes CNN. ✨ Glitter has a microplastics problem. That doesn’t mean the party’s over, at least not if the purveyors of Bioglitter have anything to say about it. Bioglitter breaks down naturally in freshwater habitats within four weeks. 👮♀ Chicago shop owners targeted by smash-and-grab burglars want solutions: ‘We just got to hope that our city can do better’. 🚚 The golden age of working for Instacart, DoorDash, and other delivery apps is over, workers say. Just finding orders to deliver can be a challenge. Some services, like Instacart, have also cut base pay for delivering orders. 🧼 Campaigners are calling on Unilever to disclose how much tax it has paid in Russia over the past year amid ongoing disquiet over the company’s decision to remain in the country following the invasion of Ukraine. 👔 Archie Norman, chairman of Marks and Spencer & Spencer, has successfully orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for the company. Is fast-withdrawing grocery delivery service, Getir, leaving a nasty taste in the mouth of suppliers? Getir has allegedly left some of its UK partners with huge unpaid bills after scrambling to exit its international markets over the past month, City AM understands. The Turkish delivery firm, which once commanded an $11.8bn valuation during a pandemic-induced boom for the industry, announced last month it would be pulling out of the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and the US after a drop-off in international demand. City A.M. understands that the exit could also have also left a hefty tab for other suppliers, including The Arch Company, which owns commercial space under railway lines where many of Getir’s so-called ‘dark stores’ were housed. Complete Assets which Getir hired prior to its exit to help offload assets and recover cash, claims it warehouses have been left stacked with Getir equipment, including parts from the firm’s flashy purple and yellow mopeds. Getir’s mass retreat has previously been reported to put 1500 jobs at risk in the UK and underscores the sharp fall to earth for the industry, which has been hammered by a cost of living crunch and the opening back up of the economy after Covid lockdowns. Rising labour and fuel costs have also strained the companies’ business models and forced them to hike costs. https://lnkd.in/eS4KwSWQ #getir #cityam #onlinedelivery #gorillas #covid #darkstores #valuation #costoflivingcrunch

Restaurant All-in-One Tech Sales | Inventory, accounting, scheduling, training, payroll | ERP | HRIS | 15 years as successful multi-restaurant leader | Business owner | Loves Jesus | Wife | Mom
This is why menu engineering is so important. It’s not my belief that most people are intentionally taking advantage. I think a lot of operators, based on conversations I’m having, didn’t really understand their pricing model. They just know their costs are up and margins are shrinking. Between out of stocks, substitutions and price fluctuations, many are just now putting the systems in place to understand their plate costs so they can raise and lower prices appropriately. I’ve spoken with groups that have 20 locations that are still using cash registers instead of POS systems. Unfortunately, and fortunately, the last couple of years have forced a change where operators are really having to learn how to be great and process-oriented operators. I was a multi-unit restaurant operator of 15 years before making the switch to tech sales. Of course I’m partial to Restaurant365 because I researched the capabilities and know the value, which is why I chose this company above others when switching careers. Having said that, more than anything… I’m pro-restaurant industry. I’ve put literal blood, sweat and tears into this industry since the age of 14. So if it’s not R365, that’s ok… I’d rather you be in any system that’s helpful so you have the information you need to succeed in trying times. Much love.

Restaurants took far too much in price, they took advantage of the guest when they needed us most, and now, are paying for it. I'm hearing more brands claiming "sales are up" but when you look at the details, it's only because they have raised prices over 20% in the last few years, their traffic is down. Traffic is the new king, it is how our guests tell us that we have created real value and a memorable experience. It's hard to go back and drop prices, once you fire that bullet it's over. I am proud of our team at bartaco as we stood firm that our prices would continue to provide value and approachability. While we had to raise some prices due to labor or commodity impacts, at the same time we also dropped prices of items as well and introduced new items at our most approachable price point. I sincerely hope this is a stark reminder to those companies that continue to think their guests can absorb price hikes, that the guest is not an endless ATM, they are the lifeblood of our business and we have to fight for their better good every day.

Contrast Between Supermarkets and Traditional Markets During Tet Season With only a few days left until Tet Nguyen Dan 2024, everyone is busy preparing for a joyful and prosperous new year. On the afternoon of February 4th (the 25th of the 12th lunar month), the weather was warm and not rainy, attracting a large number of customers to supermarkets in Nghe An. At the GO supermarket (Quang Trung Ward, Vinh City, Nghe An), the stalls are crowded with customers. The most crowded areas are the cake, fruit, and wine sections. The aisles in the supermarket are “congested”. People are choosing fruits for Tet rituals. Supermarket staff continuously restock goods on the shelves to meet the shopping needs of consumers before Tet Nguyen Dan. The checkout counter at the supermarket is packed with customers waiting to pay. Some customers have to wait for 30 minutes to reach the payment counter. Supermarket staff are working at full capacity. Most stalls have only a few customers before Tet. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, a small business owner at Vinh Market, said that after the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of customers visiting the market has been decreasing. Despite the upcoming Tet Nguyen Dan, the increase in customers at the market is insignificant. The Tet cake and candy area is also sparsely crowded. I've been a loyal Rohlik.cz customer for eight years now, and I'm constantly telling my friends why they should jump on board. So, what makes Rohlík so dear to me? Back in 2016, when I was pregnant and couldn't lift heavy bags, the grocery stores near me had dismal produce sections. Trudging home empty-handed in the cold rain felt pretty dramatic at the time, but hey, pregnancy hormones! That's when we decided to try Rohlík. And it was amazing. Juicy peppers, ripe tomatoes, gorgeous grapes – the quality was night and day. If something wasn't up to par, a quick photo to customer support and we got a refund. Plus, that personal Christmas card from Tomáš Čupr was a nice touch. Later, a bug in the app wouldn't let me add items to my cart. Tech support didn't reply, so I remembered Čupr's card and emailed him directly. He responded immediately and the bug was fixed in no time! When our son was born, Rohlík introduced Rohlíček for parents – free deliveries, cashback, and even free tickets to a family fun park. Then came COVID, with empty shelves everywhere. Rohlík gave loyal customers like us free premium membership with dedicated delivery slots. It was so great that we've been loyal premium members ever since. Recently, when a new app update messed up the favorites tab, customer support wasn't much help. Frustrated, I searched for a higher-level contact at Rohlík. Since Čupr wasn't CEO anymore, I wasn't sure who to reach out to. I decided to email him anyway. And guess what? He replied almost instantly, ensuring that tech support contacted me to explain the situation and a timeline for a solution. "1% better every day" philosophy is evident in their constant improvement. Refunds are long time automatic, everyday issues are resolved quickly, and complex problems are thoroughly addressed. And their drivers? Absolute heroes! One time, I was running late and missed my delivery window. As luck would have it, I spotted the Rohlik van down the street, making a delivery. I flagged down the driver, explained my situation, and asked if he was going to my address next. He was! He not only delivered my groceries, but he also gave me a ride home since I was running late. Talk about going above and beyond! Rohlik Group commitment to exceptional service, from top to bottom, resonates with me on a personal level. It's like looking in the mirror – throughout my career, I've always strived to go above and beyond for customers. That's why UX/UI design felt like the perfect fit for me. I'm eager to create digital experiences that not only function seamlessly but leave a lasting positive impression, just like the ones I've had with Rohlík.

H. Forman & Son CEO and Owner Lance Forman is outspoken about the causation of the epidemic of #middleclass #shoplifting. The Evening Standard recently reported that #smokedsalmon - which could of course include Forman's Smoked Salmon since its considered the finest in the world - along with other popular food items like Brie - was being routinely #shoplifted by Middle Classes at automated self-service checkouts. Forman blames the increase not as much on the #costoflivingcrisis as the dehumanising automated self-service checkouts in supermarkets. "Retailers are responsible,” according to Lance Forman. “If you leave your front door open, people will come and steal. It’s a sad fact of life. This idea that everything can be tech driven is wrong”. “Self service really pisses off customers - especially older customers - and they think that if you are not prepared to protect your goods you can’t care about them too much. It’s a sad reality that people behave this way but they do." "The move to self service is like the move to automated phones. They can be so frustrating sometimes when all you want to do is speak to a human. Whilst it’s obviously bad that people are stealing, vendors ought to return to serving their customers with friendly and helpful checkout staff who cheer people up and build a communal spirit. Not everything has to obsessionally be tech driven."
