Low key, my “different” buses are a lock for “ALL TIME ICEBREAKER” at weddings. Think about the following scenarios: 1. You have 200 guests coming to your BIG DAY, four or five white charter buses roll up. Your guests have seen this bus a million times, gets the job done, that’s about it. Nothing to get excited about. 2. Same first part, but the first bus looks like it was ripped out of the 80’s, the next is covered in hibsicus flowers, another with a bunch of Texas-y graphics and last but not least, a literal candcane bus roll up. Needless to say, these images are quite different, and so are the rider’s response. Feedback has been that starts and ends the party on a high note. At the very least it gets the guests (most of whom don’t know each other) a little chuckle as the party starts. Best case scenario is that everyone onboard becomes fast friends. And it definitely happens. This sort of thing wasn’t in my business plan when I started but as a small biz owner I just love leaning into doing things your way and really important differentiation. Differentiation creates value.

Creating a feeling for the guest, that they have your full attention to their needs and wants. A personal response by your team to an online booking, asking questions to the guest in the reservation process that can lead you to customizing their stay, personalizing their experience once on property and follow up after departure, are small, relatively inexpensive ways to create loyalty and word of mouth. Never under estimate the small, human touches that make all the difference!

If anything this goes to prove how Airbnb is consistently missing the mark when it comes to their host. They are never again going to be host centric. Host would much rather have better protections from Airbnb when it comes to guest filing complaints. Instead we get a price tool that quite frankly others on the market already offer. Brian's attempts to drive down host pricing show he doesn't understand why they are high to begin with. Real estate is expensive to acquire, most hosts make very little in actual profit margin due to servicing their debts and expenses. Combine this with exceedingly high inflation and food cost and you have a perfect storm for highly nightly rates. It also doesn't help that Airbnb raised their admin fee from 12 to 14 percent driving up the total price even more. If Airbnb raised their admin fee for the same reason host raises their prices "to make money" then why should we lower our prices if Airbnb doesn't lower their admin fee to "save people money".
