Looking ahead to Africa's goal of becoming a global leader by 2063, it's clear that young people are crucial for our continent's future. The African Union's Agenda 2063 highlights the importance of youth involvement in all areas. Youth initiatives should focus on community efforts, inclusivity, and empowerment. By supporting and developing young leaders, we contribute to sustainable development and inclusive growth. Involving young people in every sector will help us reach the African Union's vision. The 2030 Agenda for sustainable development provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet currently and into the future. it's implementation however seems to experience enormous challenges stemming from the breed of leadership we have in our countries. We as youths should purpose to change this narrative by working towards providing a different breed of leadership and be more intentional in achieving the goals for the future... #AIIDEV Africa #SDGs.

I was privileged to attend the just concluded Youth connekt African summit held at KICC in Nairobi Kenya,with the theme 'Youth innovating a boarderless African Renaissance'.It was a chance to network with various youths as well as leaders both from African countries and out of Africa. Exhibition of various innovations and businesses by youths was also something that stood out for me with the ongoing debate of youths not just waiting for jobs,but also creating opportunities themselves. I got an opportunity to be part of panel sessions around; 1). Youth and Agrifood systems,and how we can engage in agriculture in a way that it leads to value addition. 2).Young women in leadership,My take home was; for a woman aspiring to be in leadership be pragmatic, passionate, persistent and prayerful. 3).Volunteerism, being a volunteer doesn't only give one skills and increase chances of being absorbed by an organization,but it's benefit can also be the outcome that a community gets when one volunteers. 4). How young graduates can improve their employability, through skills development and voluntary work to sharpen work experience. That learning begins where classwork ends, when one practices in a real work environment they are able to acquire the needed skills for various jobs. These are just the few highlights of the great convergence of young African minds.I look forward to a boardless Africa with the Agenda 2063 of the Africa we want in mind, importantly I commit to work towards the change I want to see.

I am thrilled to share that yesterday, on August 16th, 2023, I had the privilege of being interviewed by the inspiring Agents of Change Foundation, a youth-led radio and podcast platform. The focus of our conversation was the incredible impact of the African Youth SDGs Summit on the emerging leaders of our continent. Over the years, the African Youth SDGs Summit has emerged as a beacon of hope and empowerment. What truly resonates is the consistent increase in participation – a testament to the determination of our youth to be change-makers. It's excitung to witness the youth's interest, dynamism, and unyielding enthusiasm during the Summit. These gatherings aren't just events; they are powerful catalysts igniting innovation and action across the #SDGs landscape. As we confront the critical crossroads of environmental challenges, African youth are emerging as vanguards of climate action. The urgency of the climate crisis has breathed life into a new wave of innovation, advocacy, and collaboration, all guided by the resilience of our young leaders. The success of the Summit isn't just measured in numbers; it's measured in the impact we create. Super excited about how my first ever #CCW as Africa Forward Program Manager Catalyst 2030 went. We took a deep dive into the action areas of the Africa Forward program through significant discussions on developing the social innovation sector, fostering job creation, and promoting sustainable financial empowerment. These conversations were framed within the contexts of youth and gender, climate change, and capacity development. As #EarthMonth winds down, I want to leave you with one more thought about Earth-focused futurism, from my perspective as a fellow at Team 54 Project: 🌍 Look to Africa. I've spent this month alongside Daniel Awomnab cheering on a World Sustainability Cup team that includes Delight Gbujie, Leonard Tabengwa, Silas Kimara, and CHIDUBEM GBUJIE. They are shining examples of the potential of African entrepreneurs. African youth will not only dominate the future workforce, African countries will not only experience the brunt of negative climate effects, but African brilliance can offer innovative solutions and new ideas. It is in our global best interest to empower them. There will be no one more passionate about and dedicated to solving these issues than folks in Sub-Saharan Africa. So if you are thinking about how to really engage with the future, particularly the future of sustainability, ESG, and climate-related issues, look to Africa.
