#WEAREBERTRANDT | On the occasion of Bertrandt's 50th anniversary, our colleagues were able to grab a very special goodie on our Brandcorners campaign day this time: our yellow b as a key ring from our own production!   This second “Activation Day” was dedicated to our core theme of “Enabling Progress”, which is reflected on both a large and small scale in making the best possible use of our internal resources for customers and colleagues.     We have filmed the production process using injection molding by Michael Wetzstein's colleagues from the Rapid Technologies department and would like to give you a brief insight into the production steps. Starting with the CAD design (1) and programming (2), through the milling of the required tool parts (3 and 4), the eroding of the material (5) and tool assembly (6) to the actual injection molding (7) - you can follow every step in fast-forward in the video.   Would you like to get an insight into the technologies at Bertrandt more often?

For those of you who want to know more about the individual production steps, here is a little more detail: (1) In the first step, the component and the tool parts were designed using CAD software and then (2) programmed or simulated where the milling paths should run later. In the next step (3), the machine tool is used to process the copper component by milling, which forms the basis for the tool parts. (4) The tool parts are then milled out of steel in the form of mold halves (top and bottom) corresponding to the component, into which the liquid material is later filled. (5) During erosion, the tool parts are given the desired coarseness of the surface structure. (6) After the top and bottom sides have been assembled to form a tool part, (7) the actual casting of the molded parts can now begin. The material used is polypropylene, which is heated and thus liquefied in order to inject it into the mold part. Once the material has cooled down, the machine ejects the finished yellow b.
