I am proud to announce the second edition of Collide Copenhagen, a programme of Arts at CERN in collaboration with Copenhagen Contemporary. We are currently calling for proposals to artists from any country to join us a fully-funded two-month residency shared between both institutions. We aim to artists with a distinct interest in the intersection of art, science, and technology, who have a keen interest in engaging with scientists and engineers, and to join our vibrant communities. By giving access and support, we are particularly interested exploring the cultural significance of fundamental research; to hearing about the artists’ reflection into the profound implications of science and technology; to offering spaces for artistic dialogues with science, and to deepen the connection with researchers. Deadline for applications is March 4th, 2024. Guidelines can be found in the following link: https://lnkd.in/ezZYXMu7

Attention all history enthusiasts and curious minds! Did you know there's a hidden treasure nestled in the heart of Mayfair that's simply brimming with stories and scientific wonders? It's the Royal Institution, and it's a place that's sure to ignite your imagination! This institution isn't just a building; it's a hive of history and discovery that goes back centuries. The Royal Institution is famous for its Christmas lectures, but it's much more than that. When you step through the doors, you're walking in the same halls where groundbreaking scientists like Humphry Davy and Michael Faraday made discoveries that changed the world! Imagine being in the very room where they experimented with chemicals and created the first electric generators. It's like taking a step back in time and watching the birth of modern science. And the best part? The Royal Institution is still a buzzing center for scientific education and research. They work hard to make science exciting and accessible to everyone, whether you're young or just young at heart. Now, why haven't more people heard about this amazing place? It's a bit of a mystery! Many of us might have seen the exciting Christmas lectures on TV, but not realized where they were being broadcast from. It's like having a superstar in your neighborhood and not knowing they live right next door. So next time you're wandering through Mayfair, keep an eye out for the Royal Institution. Whether you love the thrill of a science experiment or just want to soak up some history where great minds once stood, this is a spot you can't miss. Get ready to be wowed by the wonders of science and the stories of the past, all under one roof! Now isn't that something to chat about with your friends?

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮𝟬 - 𝟮𝟰 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗲́ 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲̀𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. Our colleagues Boudien van der Werf, Alard Verhoef and Wim Vaessen will be present and representing ESSENSOR. The theme for the symposium ‘𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’ will acknowledge the impact of today’s fast-moving technology on current and future sensory science research. New generations of computers together with new analytical techniques such as meta-analysis, interactive electronic databases, machine learning etc. are constantly shaping our way of working, if not our way of thinking. In Nantes, as elsewhere, our team will discuss the new challenges to take better advantage of these opportunities. New horizons for sensory science will open if the field continues to take advantage from its position at the confluence of many scientific disciplines and explores beyond its boundaries to broaden our understanding of sensory perception and human behaviour. #sensoryscience #sensorymarketing #marketresearch #marketleader #authority #foodinnovation #smaakonderzoek #essensor #smaakexpeditie

If you're curious about what the University City Science Center does (hint: it's NOT a children's museum!), 🤔 the 2023 Impact Report is a great place to start: https://lnkd.in/g_rXvpnq I helped edit this and it was extremely handy for getting a quick overview of stats, program facts, and understanding who the Science Center helps (and has helped for the past 60 years!). Check it out!
