A 48 year old Brand called Gulftainer I would like to give you a snap shot of our Middle East portfolio which is a unique blend of terminals & supply chain solutions to offer this growing & vibrant market. 1. Sharjah Container Terminal (SCT): For those who did not know, SCT was the first container terminal in the United Arab Emirates which began operations in 1976 (the year I was born 👦). SCT has attracted various types of cargoes where one of the top commodities is used car spare parts which serves the biggest 2nd hand car market located in our backyard. 2. Sharjah Inland Container Depot (SICD): With its strategic location on the edge of the City of Sharjah next to the Dubai border and close to the main highways, SICD provides easy access to the Sharjah Industrial Estate and a vital link plus an ideal distribution point for the whole of the UAE. Note - SICD is just a short drive away from Dubai. 3. Khorfakkkan Container Terminal(KCT): For me KCT is one of the most beautiful terminals in the region with it lying just at the edge of the Khorfakkan mountains. My wife and me snorkelled 🤿 off Shark Island many years ago, which is across KCT. KCT is the biggest terminal in the Gulftainer portfolio and top 5 in the ME region. With her strategic location outside the Straits or Hormuz, KCT offers cost effectiveness and substantial voyage time savings for long haul services. Gulftainer can then arrange for movement of the boxes to either SICD or direct to your customers warehouse. KCT is also well equipped to handle break bulk, general cargoes as well as project cargoes & RO/RO operations. 4. Iraq Container Terminal (ICT): With 14 years of operations, ICT has rode the wave of the volume growth in Iraq. We serve major shipping lines and feeder operators with regional connections. 5. Umm Qasr Logistics Centre (UQLC): With an area of 750,000 sqm and strategically positioned north of Umm Qasr port, UQLC can provide a host of services which include, transport to/from ICT, cargo handling, warehousing, consolidation/de consolidation, packaging, labelling, stuffing of containers… and more. We also offer temperature controlled warehousing which is a unique proposition, where we expect the demand for TCW to grow in the coming years. 6. Jubail Commericial Port (JCP): JCP is multipurpose port capable of handling container, bulk, RO/RO and general cargo. The terminal is located in the heart of the Jubail industrial zone and is just 80 kms north of Dammam with direct links to Riyadh and the Western province. 7. Jubail Industrial Port (JIP): We also operate important projects in the King Fahd Industrial Port at Jubail which is one of the largest industrial ports in the world. GSSCO which Gulftainer acquired a 50% stake in 2013 has been contracted to run the operations, maintainence, and refurbishment of 22 commercial berths.
