🔹✈️ Exciting Growth Ahead for India's Aviation Industry! ✈️🔹 🌟 According to Darren Hulst, Boeing's VP of Commercial Marketing, India's aviation sector is set to experience remarkable growth in the coming decades. With high traffic growth and rising passenger and cargo demand, the country will require over 2,500 new aircraft deliveries by 2042. 🌍 South Asian carriers, including India, are projected to quadruple the size of their fleets over the next 20 years. To address this growth and fleet replacement needs, more than 2,705 new airplanes will be necessary. 🚀 This surge in demand reflects the strength of the Indian economy and the importance of air travel in the marketplace. India is the only large economy in Asia that has returned to pre-pandemic levels of domestic and international air travel. 📈 The projected fleet composition includes over 2,300 single aisle aircraft and nearly 400 wide-body aircraft for long-haul flights. The Indian cargo fleet is expected to expand by 80 airplanes over the next two decades, highlighting the untapped potential in this sector. ✅ This positive outlook for India's aviation industry presents immense opportunities for professionals and businesses in the sector. Stay tuned for exciting developments as the industry continues to soar to new heights! ✈️🌟 🔥#AviationGrowth #IndiaAirTravel #BoeingInsights #AirlineIndustry #FutureOfFlight #CargoExpansion #AviationOpportunities 🔥

Air India ✈️ is one of few iconic brands of India and the Maharaja definetely has a great recall value. Post its acquisition by Tata Group, they are trying various growth oriented strategies. Here are some key strategies for Air India that I think can be useful: 🌈Fleet modernization and expansion: Air India's current fleet is relatively old and inefficient. By modernizing its fleet, Air India can reduce costs and improve passenger experience. Air India is already in the process of expanding its fleet with new orders from Airbus and Boeing. 🛰️Network optimization: Air India has a vast network, but it is not always well-optimized. Air India can analyze its network and make adjustments to ensure that it is operating the most profitable routes. Air India can also consider codesharing and other partnerships with other airlines to offer a wider range of destinations and connect with more passengers. 💺Product and service improvement: Air India needs to focus on improving its product and service offerings, including food and drinks, in-flight entertainment, and customer service. Air India can also consider introducing new cabin classes, such as premium economy, to give passengers more options and generate more revenue. 💲Ancillary revenue: Ancillary revenue is revenue that is generated from sources other than ticket sales. Air India can focus on increasing its ancillary revenue by offering more value-added services, such as priority boarding and baggage handling, and partnering with other businesses to offer discounts on products and services to its passengers. These are a few ideas which can help Air India can achieve sustainable revenue growth and become a more profitable airline. Let me know what other strategies or ideas Air India can use. #AirIndia #RevenueGrowth #Aviation #Strategy

As someone who used to fly Air India in its prime, it was painful to see the airline plummet to appalling levels in the past many years. Though I never flew Air India after 2006, a part of me (rather, many of us) was still quietly hoping and rooting for its resurgence (in fact, desirably under the Tata Group, even before it happened). After 17 years, I finally decided to try Air India in its resurgent avatar. Flew one international sector (JFK-Mumbai), and 4 domestic sectors within India, in both economy and business class. I must say that it was truly delightful to see the majestic Maharaja rising again. Though there is still a lot of ground to cover to get back to its prime, Air India has definitely taken big strides in that direction. Check-in, coordination of wheelchair assistance for aging parents, and boarding were a breeze. It was a new spick and span aircraft on the international sector, and that definitely felt like a breath of fresh air. Each time, I could notice the inflight crew being proactively attentive to the smallest of needs, and checking on passengers' well being. Something that was clearly a differentiator from most airlines. Some areas for improvement (I'm positive that we will see these happening): (a) Need more direct flights between major US cities and India (b) Need better connecting flight network within US for international travellers (c) Food on international sector was at best 5-6/10. Bringing back that Indian ingenuity to the food will reinstate it at 9/10, like it was with the old Air India. Food on domestic sectors was excellent, at 8-9 / 10. (d) Domestic sector could have better aircrafts, and with the new fleet coming in, we can surely look forward to that happening in the near future (e) Headsets need to be better, as the current ones don't quite cut it. Overall, I am delighted to see the resurgence of the Maharaja. Kudos to Airindia Limited on this journey of resurgence, and the people that made it happen! Proud of the Tata Group !! 🙏 #AirIndia #TataGroup #Aviation

Between 2022 and 2023, the air passenger market in India has changed, and yet not changed. Akasa Air made its debut (it has had it's share of challenges). It took a 4.2% share, good for the first year. In the process it has commanded a share that is in-line with SpiceJet Limited which incidentally had the second largest market share in 2022, at 10%. IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) has upped its dominance in the sector with its market share improving by 8 percentage points. The biggest beneficiary of the Go Air turmoil that led to winding down operations. While the likes of Air India Limited and Vistara - TATA SIA Airlines Ltd. talk about merger, the duo are now holding the joint second spot in terms of market share. If amalgamated, they would still have a little short of 1/5th of the market, and way short of a third of what Indigo commands. While employee remunerations and strikes, older craft, lesser services beyond tier 2 cities and higher base fares along with competition from railways through the Vande Bharat offerings, underline the current phase of the airline passenger market- the funda has been simple for the performers. Focus on Operations, try to add 'perceived' value offerings and reduce cancellations and maintain schedules. A courteous example of this being Indigo's sales in the Food and Beverages (F&B) category exceeding the India revenues of Barbeque Nation. As more people look to unwind and travel, with the upcoming holiday seasons and a hopeful 2024, more of the pie for operators to take. #travel #airlines #aviation #market #industry

“No nation in the world is buying as many airplanes as India. Its largest airlines have ordered nearly 1,000 jets this year, committing tens of billions of dollars to a spending spree that is unparalleled in aviation. In New Delhi, Indira Gandhi International Airport will be ready for 109 million passengers next year, as it prepares to become the world’s second busiest, behind Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the United States. And this is happening in a vast country still heavily reliant on trains — with 20 journeys by rail for every one by air. The enormous aviation build-out, with a surge of investment behind it, has pride of place in India’s case for a greater standing on the world stage. As it moves up the ranks of the world’s biggest economies, India is scrambling to meet the expanding ambitions of its ascendant middle class. Its airports present highly visible achievements.” By Alex Travelli and Hari Kumar New York Times Nov 2,2023
