When it comes down to work and decisions individuals make throughout their career. I believe that ENVIRONMENT will ALWAYS be at LEAST in the top THREE categories of importance when considering the longevity and loyalty of an associate. I TRULY BELIEVE that when you: 1. Trust in the people you hire to successfully accomplish their projects without micromanagement. 2. Allow them to utilize the tools they need to figure out complex problems. 3. Evaluate them by the quality of their work as opposed to silly useless metrics. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: 4.RESPECT them as a professional and lead them to success instead of using their mistakes to boost your own ego (Huge issue with many common minded experts in any industry). An employees resiliency and loyalty to your company will grow beyond many barriers (yes even small increases in pay)! My current position is living proof of that and it adds an amazing layer of excitement and adventure more days than not!!!

Transitioning to a new role is always a blend of excitement and challenges. I'm now a few months into my new role as a Client Relationship Coordinator with Alterniq Events. I've now found myself immersed not just in the job's responsibilities but in the company's ethos and passion. Here are the three things that have stood out for me so far: ✏️ It's in the mundane tasks that excellence takes root. Often, it's the tasks that seem trivial that lay the foundation for our bigger successes. ✏️ Active listening isn't just a skill; it's a necessity. Truly understanding clients means tuning into the nuances, the unspoken words, and the emotions behind them. ✏️ I've discovered that being in the business of building relationships is a genuine career highlight. More than just a function of my job, it's been a profound journey of connecting, understanding, and growing with our clients. Reflecting on this initial phase, I realise that these lessons aren't just about a job. They're life lessons, shaping not just my professional journey, but also how I view the world around me. I was recently interviewed and asked a question about what I am most proud of. I am glad to share my response here and encourage everyone to prioritize seeking influence above all else. Here is my response: I take immense pride in directly and indirectly developing others, firmly believing in the profound impact of influence. Throughout my career, I've been recognized for my ability to empower and guide individuals toward their professional goals. During my tenure at a beverage company, I was acknowledged for my actionable intelligence, providing insights that enabled informed decision-making. In the oil industry, my focus on time step change adjustment played a pivotal role in averting wellbore accidents, highlighting my commitment to safety and efficiency. At Gas to Power, I leveraged commonly used household appliances to illustrate the socioeconomic implications of consumption power, fostering a deeper understanding of energy dynamics. In climate change impact assessments, my innovative methods for classifying and rating consumption savings underscored my dedication to sustainability and efficiency. In manufacturing, I excelled in capacity management, driving improvements that optimized production processes and enhanced overall performance. Transitioning to healthcare, my strategies at the payer level were instrumental in promoting population health and ensuring equitable access to care. Even in defense, my focus on delivering quality, safety, and efficiency underscored my commitment to excellence. But above all, what truly defines my career is the success of those I've had the privilege to work with, as they've gone on to advance their careers and make meaningful contributions in their respective fields. And the few I am still in contact with continue to claim that I compel them to introspect, aiding them in thinking and approaching problem-solving differently.

You get to keep that level of confidence and authority around your abilities , find an organisation/ industry that aligns with your values w expérience and your culture. You may love the industry you're in , but not necessary the role you have in it .

IT’S TIME FOR A REALITY CHECK. Recently, I spent time with and had a good conversation with the top performers at a Fortune 500 company. As I listened to them talk about what was and wasn’t working, in their careers and in their lives, I kept circling back to the same fact, that we all need to be reminded of.   TO CREATE THE LIFE YOU DESIRE, YOU MUST TAKE RADICAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE! If others that are on your same path dont have the same level of commitment and the direction is out of focus, regardless of the circumstances around you, you are always in control of your life: 🎯 ATTITUDE 🎯 EFFORT 🎯 ACTIONS   If something isn’t working in your career, relationships, health or finances, you must get real and raw about it. Take stock of what’s working and what’s not working. Then use your list of what’s not working to create objectives for your path forward. No blaming, no whining, no lamenting. Just ownership and action. When you take radical responsibility for your life, you can achieve anything you desire.

Let's talk about this. It's important to understand that job applications are only sometimes seen immediately. They are often sorted by computer software systems, which can sometimes delay the process. This is why staying patient and persistent in your job search is crucial. Something I have observed while working in workforce development and finding ways to spark subject matter interest is that most people are struggling to find jobs, most companies are struggling to find the right candidate, and many jobs stay open for months, even years. DO NOT allow a few No's to determine your next YES! It is out there, available, and waiting for you to submit your application. Maybe, just maybe, you are "the right candidate."
