System of Care, also called SOC, embraces the idea that youth and families can and should have an active role in how systems serve them. This includes services in the community that are based on the youth and family’s strengths and needs, as identified by the youth and family. A System of Care addresses the needs of the youth and family through effective family, youth and system partnerships and collaboration, decreasing barriers to service delivery for families trying to access mental health & addiction treatment and increase the availability of evidenced-based practices to promote positive youth and family outcomes. We believe in the power of unity and teamwork to make a positive difference in people's lives. Together, we create a brighter future for those who need it most. Actually, not necessarily at all re below. And on prisoners release, for some survivors/victims of crime, the total opposite. Even, some prisoners resurface wanting contact, not offering anything to children left behind, declaring they have seen the light, but behave in the same way, triggering, and even stressing the survivor/victim to a point of near collapse. Many many people are impacted by myriad crimes https://lnkd.in/dmwAe2FK In my younger heritage, one2many of these 'adults' were treated with kid gloves, when they should, most certainly have been in jail. High tolerance thresholds have gone up through weak theory&even love of chaos. Instead, some live with, put up with, shut up with&then escalates4what can morph into horror. Philosopher Hegel termed histories audit as 'slaughter of the innocents' The multivariate issues across the lifespan, from historical fetishised freedom rights (eg patriarchy etc) is some story with wide enablers. Its a history into the evolving present, increasingly framed now, as public health but where public order as a norm foothold is nearly de-foregrounded. Historically, societies were slower and commodities were cheaper. Not now Time lost today is significant drain on so many spheres and public finances. Furthermore, there is a longitudinal cost from this history, where one too many children were caught up in these runaway train scenarios. Decades later, reduced social freedom for myriad reasons, placing incredible strains for these 'invisibles' - 'the alienated familiar' The winter is now coming - costs are running high for prematurely ageing and the isolated, and all I hear, at times, is sympathy for the one who suffers from varying addictions, and little or nothing is said of those who did nothing wrong. One2Many have struggled all their lives through the vicarious impacts. For some, social life is not imbued with any ethical obligation for achieving what they desire, over anything else. Instead, living good, is a letting it rip; running roughshod over the social contract rights of many others. Often the assumption is, these experiences make you hardy and toughen one up, and stop playing the victim card. Some very inured de-sensitised ideas doing the rounds of social media Lastly, prior2secularisation of personality metrics, we had character/self. Now its 'psychometrics/humanistic concern for individual subjectivity and meaning' Peter Zachar and Robert F Krueger' 2013 Moving science away from value/ethically orientated articulations is discouraged. The fear is science might be seen as mere folk wisdom if individuals are viewed as possessing ethical constructs in their traits/motivations. It is still unclear2 me what exactly has replaced it in terms of our emancipatory interest in such affairs 'how the living good realises itself through the consciousness and will of individual social members' (Neuhouser 2022).

I have yet to see any national or state suicide reduction plan mention incarcerated populations even though suicide is the leading cause of death in prisons. I also see no mention of AOT programs in suicide prevention plans and scant mention of SMI - even though compulsory treatment prevents incarceration and psychosis/bipolar disorders have a lifetime suicide risk of 5% - 10% - Why are SMI and incarcerated populations being ignored by mainstream suicide prevention efforts?

Despite parity requirements for mental health access, many patients are struggling to get mental health care coverage in the same way they get physical care coverage. These new regulations would ensure true parity under the The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, making a crucial step towards eliminating the barriers that inhibit people from seeking the support they need. #mentalhealth #equality #healthcare https://lnkd.in/gHDARpUP
