Nothing brings us greater joy than knowing we have created a place for healing and hope for those struggling with their mental health or substance use disorder. We recently heard from a Be Well alumni: “Be Well opened the door for me. They helped me put things in perspective. They gave me hope when I had none.” To learn more and access services, call the care navigation team at (949) 749-2500. . . . #bewelloc #bewell #bewellorangecampus #orangecounty #bewellmovement #mentalhealth #mentalhealtheducation #collaboration #CountyofOrangeCA #caloptima #orangecountyhealthcareagency

Survivor Extraordinaire; leader, mentor, interpersonal violence victim/survivor service consultant, peer support program creator, speaker, educator, and woman falling madly in love with herself.
A side effect of LinkedIn that I did not expect was being able to see what a lot of working counselors and therapists are doing in care with other folks. Most of what I see in these sharing spaces is extremely concerning and scary. It makes me even more concerned about promoting counseling in these new awareness campaigns. I really thought we (survivors of violence/survivors of toxic mental health services) just getting terrible care in public mental health services, but now I see that deficit-based thinking and services are standard. #HealingCentered #traumainformed #TraumaResonsive #PeerSupport #Therapy #bestpractices #domesticviolence #sexualviolence #humantrafficking

"What do I do if my child is diagnosed with a mental health disorder?" This question can leave many parents feeling helpless. As a parent, you play a very important role as a parent with supporting your child’s treatment. The most important thing is to learn about your child’s mental health condition! The more you know about it, the easier it will be for you to understand and navigate what’s going on and be able to support your child. Once you've learned about the disorder and how to help support it, it's important not to let the diagnosis become all consuming for everyone. Instead, try to focus on your child's strengths and abilities. When we focus on strengths and abilities, your child doesn’t live through the lens of the diagnosis and instead lives through the lens of their capabilities. #parenting #parentcoach #parentingcoach #parentingapp #mentalhealthsupport
