I was waiting for this session for about two weeks but unfortunately, I missed it. The topic was interesting to me because it would have allowed me to hear some other opinions from a different audience/ experts. In 2018 I conducted a research paper about (Postgraduate learners’ perceptions of factors that support their autonomous motivation to learn in online contexts), when I did my 1st master's degree in New Zealand. I used the self-determination theory as the analytical framework to explore the factors perceived by online learners as supportive of their autonomous motivation to learn in online environments at a postgraduate level. The semi-structured interview findings that emerged from the inductive thematic analysis indicated that factors perceived as supportive of learners’ psychological needs for autonomy, competence, and relatedness, are more likely to enhance online learners’ autonomous motivation and promote the process of internalization allowing more self-determined types of extrinsic motivation to exist. What a fun moment !!! . Thanks Ian Hughes for the invitation. . The path to AI for land-based is simple: . 1. Get the servers to the cloud where it is more secure and more available. On site servers with supplier proprietary languages is not viable. . 2. Clean up the data sources. The protocol implementation by the machine suppliers is not standardized and yields bad / corrupt data on a regular basis. Can you imagine that AXES had to create its own protocol to compensate for all of the bad / missing data points in SaS and G2S does not do Internet. . 3. Make data available in real-time. It is unthinkable to think that 15 min batch files are still the norm. Our planet is in real-time … why are all the leading system suppliers not ? . AI is impossible in the land-based segment without real-time big data of clean, integral data. . AXES.ai is the pioneer in this field but without proper regulation and policy … the land-based industry is in trouble as the tech debt will soon be insurmountable. . Ps.
