Hamburg Quantum Innovation Capital (hqic) aims to establish Hamburg as a central player in the quantum technology value chain. By pooling resources, promoting technology transfer and networking industry and science, HQIC makes a significant contribution to establishing and securing Hamburg as a location for the quantum economy. Its main tasks include identifying and evaluating industry-specific use cases, creating a supportive ecosystem for start-ups and increasing the presence of technology through events and matchmaking. In addition, the HQIC promotes dialogue to raise awareness of the responsible use and diffusion of quantum technology with the aim of realizing economic, social and environmental benefits. Just a week to go to the start of INCOSE International Symposium 2024 in Dublin! I'm readying myself for the long flight across, looking forward to the "Systems binge" of the year, where i will be presenting a concept that's been forming over the years, possibly more so after having watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The presentation will delve into the concept of a "Model of Systems Models". In the spirit of Gandalf, imagine one model that encapsulates and integrates all types of models that enable the engineering of systems and the understanding of systems, as an evolutionary, emergent construct. It is so amazing that I get to indirectly be part of this amazing science, The PIP-II project at Fermilab includes the construction of a 215-meter-long particle accelerator that will accelerate particles to 84% of the speed of light. It is the first U.S. particle accelerator project with significant contributions from international partners. Research institutions in France, India, Italy, Poland, the UK and the United States are building major components of the new machine. Superconducting radio-frequency cavities will provide the electromagnetic waves that propel particles to 800 million electronvolts. The new particle accelerator will enable Fermilab to generate an unprecedented stream of neutrinos—subtle, subatomic particles that could hold the key to understanding the universe’s evolution. It will power the scientific program for the international, Fermilab-hosted Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) and Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF). https://lnkd.in/gv7dn26F
