🔅 We are pleased to announce that EU’s Hydrogen Bank has selected the #Hysencia project at the inaugural European hydrogen auction for which EAG (Empresarios Agrupados - GHESA) developed the engineering! 🍃 It has been an honor to be part of this exciting DH2 Energy project and to contribute to the auction award with EAG's work. We were responsible for the basic engineering of both the photovoltaic plant and the renewable hydrogen production plant. ☀️ We focused on maximizing the efficiency of both plants while minimizing CAPEX/OPEX and optimizing LCOH. Taking into account the available solar resource, we worked on the interconnection between the plants to ensure the best possible performance. ⚙️ This achievement underscores the critical importance of strong and effective engineering in achieving such outstanding energy results. We look forward to continuing to develop H2 projects that contribute to the transition to a green economy ✨ #WeAreEAG #SomosEAG #Hydrogen #Energy #Engineering #H2

As a major milestone for the EU-SCORES project and the entire marine energy sector, project partner CorPower Ocean has installed its first commercial scale wave energy converter in northern Portugal. The CorPower C4 device has been connected to the Portuguese national grid through a subsea export cable and is currently undergoing a commissioning program to prove effective ways of operating the system. This deployment marks a significant step forward towards making wave energy a bankable technology for mass deployment and for integrating it into future multi-source offshore energy parks. We are hugely proud of the CorPower Ocean team and EU-SCORES partners, paving the way for the integration of wave and offshore solar energy into future multi-source parks. Europe has the potential to become self-sufficient in power by 2030, by establishing a zero-emission power system. Aquila Group commissioned a study conducted by 8 reputable research institutes which shows that "European Power Sovereignty Through Renewables by 2030" is possible. We are analysing parts of the complex study from four different angles. Today, we are focussing on #technology. What role does technology play in the realisation of a power sovereign Europe? The meta-study finds: We already have the necessary technology to realise this ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’. We need to utilise existing technologies and spearhead a massive but affordable expansion of renewable energy – particularly wind and solar. A sustainably powered Europe can be achieved quickly without new technological breakthroughs. We can rely on existing technology and improve things when new technology becomes available. But the focus on what is possible with existing tech is often pushed into the background. When it comes to new technologies, we do need to further invest in innovation but at the same time we must utilise the existing technology – it is more than enough to leverage our potential for a greener and more independent Europe. Find the executive summary of the study here: https://lnkd.in/e5X9W2WU #EnergyTransition #Renewables #EU2030 #ClimateNeutralEU #Research

Protech Team Participates in IBC4EU General Assembly in Ankara! On May 15-16, our Protech team had the privilege of attending the IBC4EU project's General Assembly meeting at Kalyon PV's impressive facilities in Ankara, Turkey. At this halfway point in the project, several partners showcased the first visible results of our collaborative efforts. We were excited to see the progress and innovations taking shape! A highlight of our trip was touring KALYON's integrated PV production facility. From mono-Si ingot pulling and wafering to solar cell production and PV module implementation, the cutting-edge technology and processes were truly inspiring. Despite the current slowdown in PV manufacturing in Europe, the meeting was incredibly encouraging. It was clear that companies are still eager to invest in advanced PV products and equipment, particularly those targeting IBC-based PV production. KALYON's resilience and continuous innovation, even in challenging times, set a strong example for the industry. 💪🌟 As coordinators of the Photovoltaic Technology Cluster - FETEK, this experience reinforced our commitment to driving innovation within the Lithuanian PV industry. Staying competitive in the renewable energy sector demands a focus on continuous improvement and groundbreaking advancements. We're excited about the future and look forward to further contributions to the IBC4EU project, driving forward the future of PV technologies together! Wind turbines that mimic bird wings 🦅 Researchers at the University of Alberta have developed a new solution for wind turbine efficiency. Their inspiration? The wings of birds like condor. In a recent study, scientists teamed up with an industrial design firm to create a retrofit for turbine blades that mimic the aerodynamic efficiency of condor wings. And the result? A remarkable 10% increase in energy production, on average! Efficiency is a big challenge in wind energy production. This new innovation will help reduce drag, which limits turbine efficiency. Drawing inspiration from bird wings and airplane winglets, the team designed ‘winglets’ to add to the tips of wind turbine blades after production. This solution has come right on time — when the demand for renewables is exploding like never before 💥💥 Innovations like these are direly needed to accelerate our energy transition away from fossil fuels 🏭 They offer renewed hope for a sustainable, clean energy future. What do you think? 🤔🌱 . . . . #renewables #renewableenergy #windenergy #sustainability #research #innovation
