Last week I was invited to an event in Nairobi hosted at Santuri East Africa by the Aswaton Podcast. It was a podcaster focused event with podcasters from the West Asia and North Africa region. I had no idea what I was getting into because a friend invited me. A blessing of a friend that one! I got to network with amazing women podcasters and also learn from people from Afripods, SemaBOX Africa and Baraza Media Lab. I learned that in the podcast scene in Kenya there is very little care put into the content we create. As a podcast founder this resonated with me as I have been getting tired of the same content over and over again on Kenyan podcasts. There’s only a few Kenyan podcasts that I personally think put in care to what they produce. One example is the Untileveryone is Free podcast. I aspire to produce like them! Their episodes are educative, immersive, and creative. All in all I am looking forward to implement the lessons learned to my own podcast.
