This Women’s History Month, we would like to shine a spotlight on Lesly Simmons, the mind behind the innovative, hands-on, popup experience, Dollhouse Day. The Dollhouse Project was created in 2023 and is on a mission to bring more play and diversity to children through dolls. Lesly’s goal is to help kids see themselves and their neighbors represented in the toys they play with every day. During Dollhouse Day events, each child in attendance gets a doll to keep, for free. The events are supported by grants and donations to make sure as many kids can participate as possible. Hats off to Lesly for her commitment to championing inclusivity for our youth! #WomensHistoryMonth #ClientSpotlight #CommunityBank #BankofSanFrancisco #BankBSF #BankLocal

Director of Digital Innovation, MAICD, Educator, Aussie eTail Pioneer, Global Explorer, Intrapreneur & forever a student.
Last week, Year 9 Redlands students participated in an experience project where they were challenged to improve the Christmas experience for people who struggle to enjoy the holiday season. One group pitched the concept of gift boxes for women at Bayside Women’s Shelter. "While children are typically the sole focus at Christmas time, we wanted to let women know that we see them and that they too are deserving of some luxuries. We have been confronted by the recent stories and shocking statistics in the media about the number of women who experience domestic violence and abuse. This is an issue that impacts everyone, from every socio-economic background, every cultural and linguistic group and every age. We want to play some small part in acknowledging the situation and turn feeling helpless about it into feeling empowered to act." They are now asking for donations so they can create carefully curated gift boxes and deliver them to women at Bayside. The boxes will include some essentials as well as some special items to make these women feel valued and provide them with gifts that they wouldn’t be able to buy for themselves. Redlands staff member Liz Green is collecting the funds on behalf of the students and then the students will use the money to create the gift boxes and deliver them in time for Christmas. https://gofund.me/a42a28b9 #domesticviolence #domesticabuse #fundraising #agoodcause #studentleaders #studentprojects #servicelearning #studentagency

Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires millions of people togive, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. This can be many things - helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to causes. Everyone has something to give, and every act of generosity counts. As you consider the causes you might give to, we ask you to consider the NH Center for Justice & Equity and help us reach our goal of $5,000.00 in Giving Tuesday donations. Your investment enables the NH Center for Justice & Equity, for example, to: Research and disseminate data and actionable intelligence on New Hampshire’s changing demographics, languages spoken and disabilities profiles. Create convening opportunities for social and economic justice organizations across the Granite State. If it is within your means to invest in the NH Center for Justice & Equity, we hope you will find your way to our donations pageand help us reach our goal! When you #Give2GoodTrouble, you invest in a NH for all. https://lnkd.in/e22RM6tE

If part of your holiday season includes giving to important causes, I want to share that, out of all the worthy organizations that deserve support, racial justice nonprofits need us more than ever. Many large philanthropies have walked away from their justice portfolios. It is part of what Stacey Abrams and Julián Castro describe in their article, "It’s Open Season on Civil Rights. Philanthropy Must Not Retreat" as the “great retrenchment on racial justice funding”. I am giving to Embracing Equity to ensure that they do not join the growing list of justice organizations being forced to close their doors. Embracing Equity has developed the vital expertise needed to support schools, other organizations, and individuals in making the concrete changes we need for a more just world. I can wholeheartedly vouch for the excellence of Embracing Equity's work, but you are also invited to learn more about their effectiveness (https://lnkd.in/gJG6uGfK) and an one example of how their support is changing schools (https://lnkd.in/gEKKtMq6). Please join me in supporting their goal of raising $30K by 12/31/23 by giving whatever you can and passing this message on. “Our nation faces no more important charitable purpose right now than to defend the right to fight racism.” —Stacey Abrams and Julián Castro #DiversityInTheWorkplace #DiversityAndInclusion #InclusiveCulture #WorkplaceInclusion #DEI #InclusionMatters #InclusiveWorkplaces #EmbracingEquity Daisy H.

In the spirit of the season, this is an inspiring article that touches upon a topic close to our hearts: teaching children about generosity. 🌟 Making a Difference for Children in Need! 🌟 As we navigate the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, let's take a moment to reflect on those who need our support the most—children facing adversity. 💚 November is the month dedicated to raising awareness for Children in Need, and it's a reminder for us to come together and make a positive impact💚 Here are a few ways we can contribute: 📚 Support local initiatives: Donate to or volunteer with organisations working towards improving the lives of underprivileged children in our communities. 🌈 Advocate for education: Education is a powerful tool for empowerment. Share information about programs that focus on providing quality education to children in need. 💙 Foster a culture of compassion: Encourage your network to get involved, whether through donations, volunteer work, or simply by spreading awareness about the challenges faced by children in need. Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. 💙👶 #ChildrenInNeed #MakeADifference #CommunityImpact #ChildAdvocacy #GivingBack

We know how busy everyone is, but please take a moment to mark this date in your calendar! On October 20, our client, Friends With Dignity Ltd are raising funds to support those affected by domestic violence. DV doesn't discriminate — it is an insidious shadow that can touch anyone, regardless of age, gender, culture, or background. Their upcoming Little Friends Giving Day acknowledges the shadow that DV leaves not just on the adults involved, but on the tender hearts and young minds who bear witness. These children, innocent victims of circumstances beyond their control, carry scars that might last a lifetime. This year, thanks to the LJ Hooker Foundation and 4 Shore Projects, your donation will be DOUBLED, having an even greater impact on these innocent lives. So this October 20, please consider making a donation with the knowledge that it will have double the impact! #littlefriendsgivingday #ljhookerfoundation #4shoreprojects #BusinessDrivenPeopleFocused #IntegratedHR #hr #leadership #goldcoast #goldcoastbusiness #hrtips #businesstips #outsourcedhr #hrconsultant #humanresources #womeninbusiness #hrcommunity #recruitment #workplaceculture #welovehr #peoplemanagement #careers #employment #companyculture #employeeengagement

Less than 2% of charitable giving in the United States goes to women and girls—and only a fraction of that goes to supporting girls and young women of color. This #InternationalWomensDay, we're calling on philanthropy to #InvestInWomen by creating spaces where adolescent girls and young women of color can learn, play, dream, and become powerful movement leaders. Tides Foundation's Advancing Girls Fund powers grantmaking for girls and young women of color and their allies. Since 2021, we’ve granted more than $61.9M to 150 girl-centered organizations in 20 countries, 90% of which are BIPOC-led. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ercMjJxw
