#DonateToIDR | At IDR, we want to make sure that we continue to carry more diverse and under-represented voices. Many of our authors come from marginalised communities which, in most cases, translates into an economic disadvantage as well. Because of this, we have started a fund that remunerates authors from communities marginalised by gender, religion, caste, disability, sexuality, and geography. And we are inviting you to support these authors by helping us achieve our target fund. We are raising INR 10 lakh to pay at least 200 contributors across the country. We have currently raised 20% of this amount. Here’s what you can do: - Help us achieve this target by donating here: https://lnkd.in/gvTXakiU - Forward this post to friends and family who you think would like to support these authors - Email us at [email protected] if you’d like to make a larger contribution.

🌈 Despite being more likely to identify as LGBTQIA , young people are less likely to be out at work. In 2020, only 24.5% of LGBTQIA individuals aged 18-24 were out to everyone they work with. We need your help to change this! Your tax-deductible donation supports Out For Australia's national mentoring programs, helping LGBTQIA young people thrive and be their authentic selves at work. 💖 Donate today and make a difference: https://lnkd.in/giCBXXGh * AWEI 2020 Practice Points: Key Findings, Pride in Diversity, ACON #SupportLGBTQIA #OutForAustralia #DonateNow

Helping leaders transform their organisations through inclusive leadership | Inclusion Expert | Equity & Diversity Writer
Dear Mumsnet I've just read a thread about Global Butterflies that breaks your Talk Guidelines. Your guidelines include no personal attacks, no hate speech of any kind, and no deliberately inflammatory behaviour: https://lnkd.in/exT-NYQH The person who started the thread in January this year complained that they were being forced to attend training at work conducted by Rachel Reese 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 from Global Butterflies. The training was for all staff to understand more about gender expression and how to support transgender people. Lots of people pitched in to suggest solutions, including ways to bait, shame and embarrass Rachel during the training. They were united in sympathising with the person who would be attending the training, and found much to laugh about and scorn at the expense of transgender people's dignity. I browsed a bit more and found much more unmoderated, overwhelmingly anti-trans content. I saw people shouting down and contemptuously contradicting those who were explaining the experience of trans people in the UK. I stopped reading after a while as I was feeling too sick to continue. I would like to understand your position on applying Mumsnet's own guidelines in relation to anti-trans hate on your platform, and I look forward to hearing from you. Dear allies The Mumsnet thread came up as a Google suggestion when I was searching for Global Butterflies because I wanted to donate to their fund (details below). Please consider donating if you can do so 🙏 I'm not going to share the site or the comments because they don't deserve airtime (if you want to check it out, search for 'Global Butterflies' or 'transgender' on the home page of Mumsnet). But these hateful bigots are the people bringing up the next generation. Looks like Gen Z will have some parental education to do, on top of saving the planet whilst earning less money than their parents did. Dear Gen Z I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry about the state of the world that you're inheriting. #transrightsarehumanrights #loveoverhate #standwithtrans

As #SouthAsianHeritageMonth is coming to a close, we’re highlighting the work of Zinthiya Ganeshpanchan FRSA from our Spokesperson Network. Her latest blog explains why charities should avoid using the BAME label and the importance of focusing on the needs of the individual. https://lnkd.in/em2HaF8R

#BAMEOnline started out as an annual conference calling out racism in the charity sector. In the years since, we have grown both as a consultancy and a political education platform. We recognise that the systems of white supremacy, patriarchy, queerphobia, imperialism and more, are all inextricably linked. It's not enough to call out these systems, the goal is to eradicate them and make charity obsolete. We're evolving to better reflect those commitments. #Uncharitable will encompass everything you love about #BAMEOnline. Expect even more disruptive and unflinching critique of the sector, as well as radical hopeful alternatives in service of a liberated world.

While as adults we strive to make a difference in children’s lives and help to push them to do better and be better, we should also recognize organizations who do the same. One of the most well-known is the YMCA which is a non-profit organization that helps to get people access to necessary services nationwide. It’s organizations such as this that help entire communities and are able to keep doing so because of those who offer their support and assistance. Since not everyone has the time to go in and volunteer, there are also other options that help these organizations. These can include spreading the word, posting on social media, making donations, going to events, etc. Helping to keep businesses/organizations like these running, allows for people, especially children, to have somewhere to go besides home, where they know they’re safe and cared for. A community lacking places like these can likely see an increase in trafficking or predatory activity. We encourage you to do whatever you can to help support those that support children because working together can help to ensure a safer world for them to grow up in.
