📢 Institute of Philanthropy supports WHO’s efforts on health of migrant and displaced populations impacted by climate change Institute of Philanthropy (“#IoP”) announced its first-tranche donation of US$1.23 million (HK$9.6 million) to support World Health Organization’s efforts to safeguard the health of migrant and displaced populations affected by climate change. This collaboration underscores the IoP’s commitment to address global health challenges in the context of climate change. Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Director of the IoP and CEO of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, said the donation was a milestone for the IoP as the first project it has supported led by a #UnitedNations specialised agency. Through this donation, the IoP is aiming to help address the critical issue of health arising from climate change in keeping with its mission to support globally impactful projects. “I hope this is going to be the first and the very beginning of this journey of the Institute of Philanthropy, established recently by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and with all our partners in Asia. So that we can start to work in a new way with the #WHO for global health, and echoing this motto that is behind me – “All for Health, Health for All,” said Dr Gabriel Leung. A report commissioned by Natural England and published at the end of last year, explores the experiences that people who have visual impairments encounter when visiting green and blue spaces (GBS). This research took a mixed methods approach to gather insight into the experiences, barriers, and expectations of people with visual impairments when visiting GBS.
