Team Appreciation: A time to celebrate your team as a whole! 🎉Celebrate their hustle, dedication, perseverance, and most of all celebrate their DIVERSITY! 🎊Two weeks ago we had Team Appreciation Week! 🥳 I asked the team if they wanted one theme or multi theme week. They chose Multi theme. 🦸🏽♀️Monday we Celebrated our Dynamic Team during Dynamic Duo Day! 🦸🏽♀️We dressed up in Dynamic teams and had some lunch together. 🥪 💎Tuesday we celebrated our Vineyard Place Treasures through treasure hunts. The team dressed as pirates and they completely treasure hunts by guessing what Team Member was being described in a worksheet made for them. I complied some team members favorite items and the team had to talk to each other to figure out who was being described. 🏴☠️ 🤝Wednesday we celebrated Unity through Diversity! 🌏 We wore clothing that represents our cultural backyards and shared some treats with each other. 🍰 👩🏽🎤 Thursday we celebrated our Rockstars! We dressed as Rockstars and ate some lunch! 👩🏽🎤 🏆 Friday we had our first ever MET GALA awards. Weeks prior team members voted on each other for select categories. Some categories were Best smile, Best signer, Motivator, etc. We handed out certificates and Awards. 🎫🎟️We also handed out Raffle tickets throughout the week for those who participated in the week's activities. Our families donated many prizes for our team which were given out during this time. Ever thought a traditional festival could bring so much more than just a day off work? This Pongal, our team experienced exactly that. Organized seamlessly by our HR team, with special thanks to Sravanthi Krishnaswamy and Priya lakshmi, the event was more than just a celebration - it was a revelation. Dressed in traditional attire, we didn't just celebrate a festival; we celebrated our culture, our roots. The joy was palpable, the energy infectious. And then, the surprise gifts! Each one of us received something special, a reminder that appreciation and thoughtfulness are alive and well in our workplace. But here's the kicker - amidst the fun, we realized something important. Why wait for special occasions to find joy? Why not make our everyday work life as engaging and fulfilling as this festival? The Trade-Off of China's Extended May Day Holiday: In China, the May Day holiday can extend to a full 5-day break, but this comes with a catch: to create this "Golden Week," employees have to give up their weekends before and after the holiday. It seems many of my colleagues and friends aren’t in favor of this arrangement. What’s your view? Do you prefer: 🔹 1: I support the extended holiday! While this may look like a basic chart, the GlobeSmart Profile is a living, breathing thing that represents a part of my inclusion journey. My work style constantly changes as I work with people worldwide and experience different collaboration methods. My placement in most dimensions is the middle, which does not surprise me as I see the value of each perspective, and I utilize each perspective as I work with others. Part of this could be my people-pleaser tendencies and avoidance of confrontation, but the beauty of the GlobeSmart Profile is that there is no right or wrong perspective. I joined Aperian and discovered the GlobeSmart Profile precisely when I was supposed to. I was in a period of my life where I focused on self-discovery (which never truly ends), and my personal and professional lives intersected. At Aperian, we believe that change can stem from the smallest actions and that "we [can] bridge boundaries through a deeper understanding of ourselves and others." We want to partner with you on this journey as we strive to create a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace (and world).
