Last September, Referalah kicked off—an open-source platform linking up overseas Hong Kongers. With heaps of folks from Hong Kong spreading out worldwide in search of greener pastures, cracking the tough job market became a shared headache. Referalah steps in to help by giving Overseas Hong Kongers a space to link up and lend a hand to newcomers in buffing up their job-hunting skills and chances. Starting off with Canada, Referalah has now branched out to cover the UK, Japan, US, and Austria. One cool story? An employer used Referalah to scout for tour guides in Yellowknife, showing off Canada's jaw-dropping scenery to tourists. Folks are encouraged to post job posts or refer fresh faces to roles. If you are employers or recruiters, why not consider picking up some talent from Hong Kong and helping them blend into local communities? Referalah's all about sharing—the source code's up for grabs on GitHub. (Link in comment)

Nowadays, a big topic in the professional sphere is "the company’s culture." As someone actively seeking my next professional opportunity, that's something I really take into account. I know that a company’s culture can either leverage my productivity or generate unnecessary internal conflict. Therefore, I believe job applicants should stick to the mindset that we also choose the companies we would like to work for. It's key to primarily direct applications to companies whose values resonate with us. Of course, material needs knock on our door, that’s obvious — everyone needs to work and job hunting can be exhausting. But that's another reason why we need to be wise in our search. Directing our energy to companies whose culture truly inspires us will save us and recruiters a great deal of time – and most likely ensure calm nights of sleep when we fill in our next position What do you think about this? Do you blindly apply for positions or do you also do some “homework” before clicking the apply button? #companysculture #jobsearch #bewise #jobsearchingermany

What's your ideal work environment on this #MotivationMonday? I don't know what the psychology of it is, but having a candle lit (currently obsessed with this salt sea candle) and jazz music on in the background makes me way more productive. I'm so lucky to work at a company where I'm excited to get up each Monday and start a new week. Tallo makes that easy since I know the work we are doing makes a direct positive impact on the world. Everyone deserves to find a meaningful job that aligns with their unique skills, abilities, and interests. Are you #hiring and looking to keep your candidate pipelines filled with quality entry level #talent (bonus points if you like candles and jazz)? Let's connect! #staffing #recruiting #HR #sourcing #careers #jobs

Looking for a job? Yea, experience and all those things are important but there are employers out there who genuinely want to make sure it is a good fit. When it comes to hiring, the most important factor for me is the vibe check. 😎 While having an excellent skill set and being moldable are crucial, it's equally important that a potential hire's energy and personality mesh well with our team culture. We have a fantastic group taking care of our clients, and seamless communication is essential to serve them effectively. Ensuring that everyone fits well together helps us maintain a positive and productive work environment. In the end, it's all about finding someone who not only has the right skills but also brings the right energy to our team. What is the most important thing you look for when hiring? #Hiring #CompanyCulture #TeamVibes #WorkplaceHarmony

Hiring isn't just about skills on paper❌ It's about finding the right pieces for the company puzzle. ✅ . . Here are the 10 traits I prioritize when bringing someone aboard: 1. Stability: How many months or years have they stuck it out in their last job? Are they loyal and speak highly of their old companies or bash them? 2. Keen on Research: When a candidate has done a thorough research on the company and has utmost clarity on the role they are applying for, it's a waving green flag. 3. Proactive Nature: A really good candidate will not require follow ups. They are well aware of when they need to be present and make sure you be punctual. 4. Relevancy: This applies both, to cultural fit and technical skills as well. The candidate should align with the company's culture and values and also have the required technical skills needed for the role. 5. Communication Skills: Can you articulate your thoughts effectively? A candidate should we well aware of how to present themselves at all times. In my HR journey, I've seen that these traits transform a hire into a valuable asset. It's not just about fitting a role; it's about fitting into the heartbeat of our company. What traits do you value most in your team members? Let's exchange insights! #HRHacks #TalentAcquisition #CompanyCulture
